There are just so many beautiful highlights and moments when I think back on my wedding day, but the most special one was that even during these uncertain times we were fortunate enough to have our special day with our family and friends. And just for those few hours it felt like we were back in 2019 where COVID didn't exist.
Due to COVID we were unable to go on honeymoon, but we have subsequently moved to the Netherlands. And now every day feels like honeymoon.
My wedding look was all about looking elegant but with an edge, hence the sparkling rose gold shoes from Steve Madden. I purchased my dress from Calegra and had the most amazing consultant Chantel. I saw my wedding dress more than 2 years prior to my wedding and immediately fell in love with it. The designer of the dress is the incredible Jeannelle l' Amour Bridal. My jewellery was from Lovisa, everything rose gold and my gorgeous hair and makeup was by Evelyn Francis.

We got married at Au d'Hex, they have the most beautiful onsite accommodation for 20 people which is where I got ready. The venue is incredible, the gardens are extremely well kept, the glasshouse is something out of a fairytale and I still can't believe I got to have my wedding at Au d''Hex.

I joined JEFF (online fitness program) during the month of May 2020 in order to lose weight, and was able to lose 16kg and fit into my dream dress. Other than that my make-up artist told me it was very important to drink a lot of water the week before the wedding as it helps with skin dehydration and makes your make up last longer. Besides this I pretty much went on with my normal day to day life which didn't include spa treatments or teeth whitening.
My flowers were done by a girl I found on instagram, Lise Marias (Freelance Florist), she just started out with freelancing and growing up she helped her mom with flowers at weddings. She exceeded my expectations and made my dreams come to life! I will forever be grateful to her. My furniture, lights and other décor was done by Baie Goeters. They have the most beautiful furniture and everything turned out breathtaking.
The food was all prepared by Au d'Hex restaurant chef, the pumkin fritters were better than the ones from Woolies (and they are amazing), the gamon was amazing and the dessert...yum yum yum. The wedding cake was made by none other than my beautiful Mother in-law, it was a carrot cake and was incredibly moist and so tasty!
