Our love story is one that was written in the stars from the first day we met each other 21 years ago.
I am the girl next door and he is my blued eyed boy.
We have known each other since we were kids and started our relationship on a foundation of great friendship.
After he finished school he went onto study and then moved abroad to work and live for a few years.
I also similarly went onto to study after school and our lives drifted and we grew apart.
More than 6 years went by before we ran into each other again, but still the universe wasn't ready for us to be together as we were both in different stages of our lives and again parted ways.
Another 8 years after that found him sending me a happy birthday message which sparked a dinner invitation. We went to dinner on Friday the 13th July 2018 and have been together since. It was as if no time had passed between us at all.
Imagine pink skies as the sun is setting over the ever picturesque Paternoster.
Waves crashing in the background and the smell of ocean in the warm November air.
Between a cluster of rocks right next to the ocean he got down on one knee and asked if I would make him the happiest man alive and say 'Yes'.
The answer was always - YES!
So began our journey as an engaged couple who have made the commitment to each other to spend the rest of our lives together.
Outside of it already being such a special day, I think it was amazing that we were able to go ahead with the wedding given Covid and all the uncertainties.
It was amazing to have some of our family make the wedding we might not have seen otherwise.
We were blessed with stunning weather and blue skies. The day like any had some hiccups but given how special all it was it went unnoticed.
Having my father walk me down the isle was a blessing.
The original plan was to go to Europe for 2 weeks but beacuse of the pandemic this has been put on hold for now.
We did however go to Knysna for a week the very next day after our wedding.
Teniqua tree tops was lovely. Very secluded so we had plenty of privacy.
