We have a fund going. Ideally we wanted to be unconventional and do a Europe tour/ contiki because my husband has not been out of South Africa so he could see the world. Unfortunately it’s a nightmare to try and get all the visas and quarantine time sorted so we have postponed travel for now and are possibly looking at doing the Maldives. Just lying on the beach with each other drinking cocktails and just enjoying each other company.
My wedding look was quite elegant and classic. I’m not very much of a girly girl but enjoy getting dressed up for the right occasion. I didn’t want anything with too much lace or over the top. “Less is more” my dress was from Bride and Co.
My jewellery was mostly from my Mom or my Nana. I would’ve loved if my Nana was still around. She loved a good party and celebration so I chose to wear some of her jewellery so it’s as if she was there.
My make up and hair was done by the most wonderful lady - Liezl from Eve image make up. She was just phenomenal and excited and played great music while we got ready.
Our day was at Kloofzicht Spa and Lodge. We actually stumbled upon it when going to celebrate my sister-in-laws engagement and the lovely bistro there. The rolling hills in the background and wildlife roaming around just felt so African and so much like home. There was an immediate sense of relaxation - you would never have guessed we were only a few minutes outside of Joburg.
The families spent the night as it was included in the package. Many of our guests could easily make their way home because we weren’t far from their homes.
