Seeing me husband at the end of the isle and listening to the wedding march, hooked in by my daddy, brought tears to my eyes. We both loved the ceremony and all the amazing decor.
The moment that my husband and I were able to just stop and breath it all in after taking our photos, when we had a moment alone together, was the best. Where we could just look at one another , smile and know that we have made it.
The food was AMAZING
We went spent our fist week as newly weds in the Kruger National Park, viewing amazing animals and enjoying our first holiday alone together. We then had a relaxing week in Hazeyview at the beautiful Kruger Park Lodge.
I originally thought I wanted a very vintage bohemian look but when I tried on the elegant, off-white, mermaid Bella ( also my great grandmothers name) dress at the Bridal House I knew it was The Dress.
To go with this elegant look I accessorised with stunning sterling silver, double-drop freshwater pearl earings with the matching freshwater necklace. Just to add to the accessories, my wedding ring was my great grandmothers engagement ring and my husband's wedding ring was is grandfathers wedding ring, very special to both of us. My shoes were plain beigey-pink block heels.
All us girls, bride and bridesmaids, hair and makeup was done by Melinda Cloete. Our makeup was very natural, which is what we all wanted but looked amazing, and so stunning. My hair was in a beautiful Dutch Crown braid with jip flower in between.
We celebrated this amazing day at the best wedding venue, Falcodor Game Ranch. They made our special look so beautiful, more than what we could have ever imagined.
Our guests also stayed the night at Falcodor Game Ranch, the venue reserved the accommodation for our whole wedding weekend for all guests and, of course, us newly weds.
I stuck my skin routine. I started using Colgate activated charcoal teeth whitening toothpaste and just relaxed with my parents at the home at night as I was staying there for the week before the wedding.
In between the busy week before the wedding I was also ensuring that my university work was all completed and submitted, together with my husband.
Our wedding day theme was modern vintage. There were various vintage decore elements (vintage bags, chairs and doors) scattered all around the venue.
Our flowers consisted of rose petals, lavender and woestynroose. The bridesmaids bouquets were lavender together with jip flowers. The groom and groomsmen looked handsome with their woestynroose as boutonnieres. And my bridal bouquet was made up of moss and handmade wooden flowers.
My handsome husband got his beige suit custom made at JT Tailors. The groomsmen also wore beige chinos with white shirts bought at Woolworths. All the men styled themselves with leather ties from Wonderlust and funky fish, robot, banana and cherry socks from Woolworth.
They all wore vellies to finish of this modern vintage look.
Our bridesmaids wore long beige dresses custom made by Verlief and finished it off with their own touches of rose gold accessories. I always said that their outfits reminded me of a vintage stone statue. I love vintage stuff.
Danie de Kock was our marriage officer and Rinus Geldenhuys did our ceremony.
Lizelle Engelbrecht captured all our beautiful moments throughout the day. My uncle, Leonard Bissett, was our videographer that was able to capture every memory in video and made the most memorable highlight video for us.
Riani Smith and Tanya Estelle, owners and coordinators of Falcodor Game Ranch were our wedding planners and coordinators.
I love bakkies and 4x4 so I was so excited to have my dad drive me in his new Ford Ranger to the chapel.
Falcodor Game Ranch prepared all the food. It was realy good food, a vetkoek deli, European wild boar spit, Lamb spit and amazing veggies filled all our hungry tummies.
We had our thank gifts made by Lazer Corp, they designed and made wooden coasters that had #DuPlessiswedding (our hashtag for everything) and our wedding date engraved onto them.
The reception was BEAUTIFUL, light up by fairy lights and neutral lighting set the scene. Our DJ, Hendrix Lombard kept the party going all night long.
We wanted to go for dance lessons for our first dance but that didn't work out, so my sister and best maid of honor and I watched YouTube and choreographed our first dance together. This was all done the Sunday before the wedding as everyone was working and both my husband and I had university stuff that had to fist get done.
