Nothing could stop us, not even Covid! On 05.11.20 we decided to start the next decade of our lives (we got married on our 10 year dating anniversary) by taking the next step in our relationship and get married. We were lucky enough to share this momentous occasion with friends and family from 10 different countries through a live stream via YouTube. Even though we had to abandon the plan of a garden wedding because of the rain, it stayed away and turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. We wined and dined to a delicious Asian inspired menu and enjoyed the company of our closest friends and the family that could be there. Although my sisters couldn’t be there physically, the age of technology allowed them to watch the whole day unfold, from the moment I started getting ready, until we went to bed! Hopefully, we will be able to celebrate with the rest of our friends and family soon.

As every bride dreams of, I wanted to be beautiful, but not over the top - I wanted to look like me, but elegant. I went for a simplistic dress that suited my body and highlighted my assets. Comfortable shoes that matched my colour scheme (sky blue block heals), earrings that I was gifted by my parents in memory of my late grandmother, and hair and make up that pulled everything together. Thank you to my dream team: Donique from Flawless Makeup by Donique, and Ella from Rockafella hair.
We opted for a small ceremony in my parent's back garden because we weren't having the big 80 guest wedding originally planned - thanks COVID.

Sunflowers and sky blue - because when I look at a sunflower it makes me feel happy and warm and that is how I wanted everyone to feel on our wedding day. We went for bare wooden tables with flower runners, a simple table setting and white tiffany chairs. The groom built the arch we stood under during the ceremony and we just decorated it with more sunflowers.

My bridesmaids were stuck in London :(
We had the dream team! Tim Moolman was our photographer and he documented the day just as we wanted it to be - natural and capturing all the love.
Owl Eye Films did the videography - haven't seen our videos yet but I know they are going to be brilliant!
Planned the whole thing myself. I wanted to be a hands-on bride.
We hired Suyen Thornhill from Chez Fong to cater for us, and we definitely made the right choice. We got to experience a gourmet Asian inspired menu that our guests cannot stop talking about. I think they are all waiting for the next event we can get Chez Fong back in to cater for!
Tart Patisserie in the Leaping Frog Centre made our Opera Slice Birchwood cake, It was so detailed we didn't want to cut it open! But we did and it was delicious!
We decided to only get place cards printed and we got them done by Growing Paper.
Our groomsman doubled as the DJ, with only 13 guests, there wasn't much dancing so we just needed some good background tunes to keep us in the mood.
