A highlight for myself as the bride was walking down the isle, and seeing my husband to be emotional and looking at me. I was fine until then and then all the emotions came out. It was an emotional wedding and once we receive the final photographs, these will encapsulate this moment. The wedding was specifically emotional due to Christo losing his father (my father in law to be) two months before our wedding in a tragic and sudden accident.
Another moment was when I forgot to bring my vows down to the chapel and had to send my Maid of Honour running to the reception venue mid-ceremony to fetch them (Sorry Trace!).
Lastly, the most memorable thing about our day was the people. After such a tough year, and being able to go ahead with our wedding in November 2020, each and every guest brought their true self, and we valued and enjoyed that so much!
We were lucky enough to be able to slip out of South Africa and visit the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Just in time!
The wedding look was kept natural. The wedding dress was my absolute dream dress by Cindy Bam with a low lace back. I had my heart set on a low lace back and Cindy did everything in her power to make it happen by adding nude mesh etc for additional support. Jewelry was also kept simple in a rose gold hair piece only. The dress was coated in Swarovski crystals and therefore I did not want to take away from this by adding additional jewelry. Make up was also kept natural, and hair was curled and put up to the side. This was done by Zita from Hairmakeupandtansbyzita.
Shoes were an elegant rose gold diamond studded heel sandal from Forever New. Later on in the evening I changed shoes to a nude block heel (for comfort) and then as the dance floor opened - we both put on our White Superga's to sokkie on the dance floor.

Our wedding was Belair Pavilion in Paarl. Amazing venue! Close guests stayed over in the guest house on the farm and the remaining guests were able to find ample accommodation nearby.
Colour scheme chosen was dusty light pink and silver sage. Our flowers and decor were done by Michelle from New Vintage Events. The flowers and décor were kept simple, due to the venue being so beautiful and covered in Jasmine in November. Our main flower chosen was the King Protea - as when Christo proposed the theme was proteas on the beach, in his cricket jersey he was wearing, my ring has the protea shape, and our candle lit dinner post proposal was filled with proteas.

The groom wore a light grey suit from Woolworths, with a special leather tie from Weef, with our wedding date included on it. The groomsmen were in charcoal pants and waistcoats from Markhams, with a light grey tie to match the groom.

The bridesmaids were in a light silver sage wrap dress from Forever New with nude sandal heels.
We were lucky enough to be married by Christo's (the groom) uncle. His name is Danie Lodder. This added an extremely special element to our wedding.

Both service providers were amazing and we can't wait to relive the wedding day once we receive the professional images and video. Both made us feel comfortable and at home the entire day.

Well the funny story is that myself and my bridesmaids drove through to the venue the evening before the wedding to all be together the night before - however on the way to the venue my tyre burst (panic). However, a kind gentlemen stopped to help us and we were soon back on our way. Luckily I chose bridesmaids that stay calm under pressure ;)

We decided to perform a choregraphed first dance and therefore went for lessons before the wedding with one of our guests who is a dancer. This was a hit at the wedding!
We had a DJ for the ceremony and the reception, and had live music for the pre-drinks. DJ was DJ Joe and the live music was Kai-Liam Connor.
