My most memorable part of my day was definitely seeing my soon-to-be husband standing at the end of the isle, having one of my older brothers walk me down the isle to a song my late Gran always used to sing to us growing up.
We went on a local holiday in Capetown, traveled almost the whole of the Western Cape, and what an absolutely beautiful place we have in our country.
I went for a very simple but elegant look, I had a very natural style with regards to my make up, nothing over the top, my hair was simply curled and half pinned up. My shoes were a creme-beigh - served as my "something old" and my dress was my absolute dream - Cinderella ball gown style. I absolutely loved every minute of wearing it.
We did a garden wedding type of style, at a family members house, with all the lockdown restrictions, keeping it small and intimate abiding with all Covid19 regulations.
The Thursday before my wedding, I went for a full body massage and had my nails done at family friends who run businesses from their homes. The Friday I went for my nails, gel toes and a light spray tan.
All the decor and flowers, including bridal flowers, table arrangements, ceremony decor and reception decor was all done by myself and my hubby's grandmother. We had a blast doing all the decor items, mostly made by hand, we worked the full two weeks before the wedding to make sure everything was up to our standards and perfect for my special day
The groom has a Grey and white suit with a rosegold bowtie to match his rosegold buttonhole, with the groomsmen wearing navy blue suits and black bowties
My bridesmaids dresses were all hand made by a family friend, giving a very soft and elegant touch to the day, their dresses were white with a rosegold chevon skirt look
Rachel Neyt, from Rach Neyt Photography captured my special day, I have some absolutely stunning photos of the most important day.
I didn't have an event planner or co-ordinater, my hubby's Gran and I did everything with help from my mom as well
Family friends prepared all out food and out dessert for our wedding, it was absolutely delicious. The potatoes were just to die for. My cake was made by my brother, who enjoys baking cakes and is really good at it too, everyone delighted in the cake and there was the smallest piece of cake left, that went down well with a cup of morning tea.
Our reception was absolutely stunning, tables were set by hubby's Gran, my mom and hubby's aunts help. When I arrived I was blown away, it was absolutely stunning. We had a DJ play at our wedding, our first dance song was Forever and Ever Amen by Randy Travis, we just got up on the dance floor and everything flowed, we didn't take any dance lessons before the time, it was just a magical moment for us
