We had to postpone our 2 May 2020 wedding due to Covid-19. Initially we postponed the entire 100 people wedding to 9 October, the only date our initial venue had was a Friday night which was not ideal but we went with it. Long story short in August it was clear that the rona was not going anywhere and we made the very difficult decision to downscale to a minimony and have 15 guests at a completely different venue with a live stream. In hindsight it was the best decision we could have ever made it was so perfect! We are planning on having a sequel wedding/celebration in 2021 to share our joy with our guests in person. Our day was so intimate and so special and I wouldn’t change a thing.
We were originally planned to go on a cruise from Venice to Greece and Croatia with a small trip in Turkey on the way to the cruise. However 2020 had other plans, so we went on a small minimoon after the minimony down the garden route. It was so relaxing and exactly what we needed after all the stress of the wedding. My husband and I were relieved that we didn’t have the stress of a busy overseas honeymoon.
I went non traditional and my hubby and I did not have a wedding party, we only had his niece as a flower girl and we went with a very simple white dress from Woolworths for her with a gorgeous flower crown made by Bouwer Flowers.
