As we are living in Dubai - it was most special for us to have our friends and family from all over the world join us for our special day. Some highlights & memorable moments include:
* Having both sets of our parents with us - In Jewish Tradition both parents walk us down the aisle, so this was very special.
* My Godson Jamie is in a wheelchair, but I wanted him to be a part of our special day so he joined the retinue down the aisle which was very special.
* Also in Jewish tradition, its customary for the bride and groom to not see each other for 1 week before the wedding. So when we saw each other for the 1st time before the ceremony surrounded by family and retinue it was very special.
* I had not seen the final for the décor and the flowers and everything else looked INCREDIBLE! Just beyond my dreams.
* I recall other brides telling me the day goes so fast.. so I literally took time every now and then to take in everything around me.. the people, the beauty, the weather, the food, everything!
* Jaryd is not the best public speaker and was very nervous, but he out did himself... spoke better than me! He was incredible
As we are living in Dubai, we planned to spend 3 weeks in Cape Town leading up to and after the wedding, so there was not much time for a honeymoon after the wedding.
We had planned a trip to USA in Dec - we wanted to drive long the coast from LA to San Francisco and do a road trip.
For my hair, I knew I wanted it to be up and out of my face - there is nothing worse than loads of dancing and sweaty hair in your face! I had found a picture that I had sent to my hairdresser to do something similar for me and she did an amazing job. I like the idea of a side bun... slightly different to the usual look.
Tracy has been my hair dresser for probably 20 years now
My make up was done by best make up artist around - AlgriaX. I did not do a trial with her before as I trust her and know she makes every bride look incredible!
My wedding dress was inspired by Lebanese designer Saiid Kobeisy. I tried on a few dresses before I knew what type of style I wanted. I then went to a local designer, Anne Rashid in Dubai and we created something very special.
As my job is a footwear buyer, of course my shoes needed to be designer and unique. I loved the idea of having a block heel as I had height as well as comfort and was able to keep my shoes on the entire night! I shopped around but Jimmy Choo had something special to offer and I can still wear the shoes after.
Lingerie was bought for me by one of my friends in Dubai - he wanted to buy me something blue so we went to Victoria Secret together and he bought me a few options!
For Jewellery, Jaryd had bought me beautiful earrings for my birthday in September that I saved for the wedding day. These were from Cara in Dubai
We got married at Moreson Wine Farm in Franschhoek
Guests stayed in and around Franschoek
My bridesmaids stayed at The Ivy Apartments - we also used this venue to get ready at
A few of us stayed at Hugenot House as well - this is where the Groomsmen got ready
Health wise - my trainer had put me on an eating plan. Not a strict one, just eating healthy and no carbs for dinner. Also ensuring to balance the amount of protein intake within a day. I gave myself a cheat day - each Friday and enjoyed everything my heart desired!
Fitness - I have been fortunate enough to have 2 trainers in Dubai.
My muay thai trainer and I switched from doing muay thai to doing more weight training etc
My EMS trainer and I continued with once a week sessions
I also upped my cardio so I was essentially training 4 x a week
I went for teeth whitening a week before leaving for Cape Town.
I had a few facials at Kaya Skin Clinic in Dubai - gold glow facial and detox facial so when I came to SA my skin was looking great.
My bridal party and I had our nails done at Dante
I found a picture on pintrest around a year ago... I loved the colours of this dress.. natural base with gold, bronze, navy sequins. These colours spoke to me and I knew I had to do my colour scheme around this!
Once I confirmed the venue in March, I could get started on creating my moob board.
Working with Trunk Events and sharing my mood, they helped me finding the right suppliers to offer me all the pics I had added for my mood board.
I wanted to have hanging flowers - I travelled to china and sourced magnificent fake flowers to use for hanging from the ceiling over the dance floor. There were over 1000 stems across orchids and other flowers that worked well with the colours. I had these shipped from China to my décor florist, My Pretty Vintage. The flowers used on the tables were real and I sent a few images to My Pretty Vintage who did a gorgeous mock up f what I wanted including rust orchids, white flowers and greenery in blue and white Chinese vases with navy long candles and white larger candles.
I wanted the dance floor to be the centre. The dance floor from SS floor hiring… with the gorgeous flowers and lights from Baie Goeters to hang over it. The tables were mixed rectangle and round, some with rust velvet table cloths and others with natural cotton tables cloths. The chairs were a mix white and gold chairs and ghost chairs from Muse Décor hiring, Table Cloth Hiring and Urban Tonic.
Gold cutlery was used. Jewish tradition has a small bread roll on the tables, these were individually wrapped in special fabric that matched the fabric used at the chuppah.
Linde from Plate & Platter assisted with her décor skills making sure outside buffet as well as inside buffet looked beautiful.
The chuppah in the garden where the ceremony took place was from My Pretty Vintage and they draped beautiful fabric I had sent to them for the one side and covering the chuppah.
Thirst bar created a gorgeous bar outside the venue and we used their services for amazing cocktails and drinks.
We also used some furniture for outside area.
The toilet areas had a beautiful rented tray with goodies on for ladies and men. Ladies had mosquito repellent, chewing gum, perfume, hand cream, lip gloss, panado and plasters.

Jaryd wore a Ted Baker blue suit with a white shirt from Massimo Dutti
He had his initials engraved on the 1 cuff in rust to match the theme
He also wore a rust colour tie & tan belt from a store in Dubai and Tan loafers from Dune.
The Groomsmen wore natural chinos from Woolworths Studio W collection with white shirts, tan shoes and tan belt.
The Groom and groomsmen wore kippot (Jewish tradition) on their heads that were natural linen with gold binding from Kippotworld in Miami
The colours selected were natural, rust, gold and navy.... so I gave the bridesmaids an option to select what colour they would prefer and a style that would suit them and that they could wear again.
Most of the styles had lace or pleat details in them which all worked out very well.
The bridesmaids live all over the world, so on the wedding day was the 1st time they were all together and it looked gorgeous!
Our Rabbi from Gardens Synagogue, Rabbi Feldman

We took dance lessons in Dubai which was amazing!
Our DJ was Ricky H - he was incredible. I have been to a few wedding that he has done and they have all been really good parties.
We also had Choni Goldman - Choni G sing the Hebrew songs for the ceremony and Israeli dancing which is part of the Jewish tradition.
