Best highlight of our big day was surprising my dad with a bagpiper playing Highland Cathedral as we walked into the chapel. We share a massive love for bagpipes, and having arranged a piper to play a song as we walk down the aisle was just perfect. My dad was so overcome with emotion. I achieved something truly magical and special, not only for me, but for my dad too.
Saying “I do” to my best friend and soulmate is more than enough. It was memorable and truly beautiful in its own.
Hubby decided to keep our honeymoon destination a secret until we got to the airport. We were flying to the Maldives. I have always wanted to go and was so thrilled to finally find out that we’d start our married life in paradise.
After a week in the Maldives we came home, only to go on a road trip down to the Western Cape, Wildernis, where we had our 1st ever holiday together. Paradise in South Africa.
I wanted to stay true to my own style and not look too different. My hair was loose and wavy with some fresh flowers tied in the back. I wanted an “Autumn” look for my makeup - browns, reds, gold. My jewellery was borrowed and I had a lot of pearls. My wedding dress was so incredibly beautiful and it was true to my style - feminine yet different.

It felt like home to me. I grew up surrounded by the Magaliesberg Mountains and this venue just felt right.
It’s a fairytale wedding venue with all the right touches. Upperclass, but still feels like a home away from home. So incredibly beautiful.

Hubby and I went to Body20 often for some exercise before the wedding. So much fun! It truly works. What a workout!
Sorbet has some really nice face masks to try out a few weeks in advance. Made my skin feel refreshed. They also have a “Sleep” range, which will help you sleep better at night - some pillow mist, bath oils, creams. Worked wonders.
I got some activated charcoal toothpaste and powder from Clicks, used that every day and every night, worked so well.
All décor and flowers were on site, and how grateful I am for that. It saved us so much time. They did such a wonderful job, everything looked beautiful.
Hubby and I found his suit at Polo. It was the right colour and it suited him so well. His shoes were from Woolworths.
I bought hubby’s cuff links and tie bar from Your Pal suit shop.
Groomsmen got their suits and shoes from Woolworths.

I found Gelique for the bridesmaids dresses. Their dresses are so beautiful and so feminine. I knew that I wanted my girls to look gorgeous, and they had everything I wanted.

Ds Andre Muller married us.
What a wonderful man. He spoke about love, marriage, and how God created us out of love. The service was about us, and our love for one another.
It was perfect.
Warren captured our love in photographs. He is a brilliant photographer and knows how to work with people. He made us feel at ease and got such lovely photos.
Quentin from Storiemaker captured our wedding on a video. Such special footage. I am so happy I decided to get a videographer, not regretting it at all!
Both photo and video played such a huge role in our wedding and I am thrilled to have had both. They both captured the essence of who we are as individuals, but also as a couple, so perfectly.
My dad has an Ural Sidecar Motorbike, and he drove us from the bridal suite to the chapel.
It was a special moment for us as I know how much my dad loves his sidecar. I think it made him feel proud and happy, and that is all a daughter can ask for.
Green Leaves has their own caterers and they took care of filling our empty stomachs. Boy oh boy, the food was delicious!!! It was such a great meal and everyone raved about it.
My sister in law baked our cake and Krispy Kreme made our donuts, both were so tasty!
A lovely lady called Soretha designed all our stationary and she is a superstar. She listened to what I wanted and she delivered.
I am still so impressed with her work. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hubby and I are both terrible dancers, so we naturally went for dance lessons, and man, am I happy we did. We had the best teacher! Megan from Beverley Hammond Dance School, you’re an angel!
She taught us how to dance in less than a week (yes, we left it until last minute) and she had a brilliant routine for us. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful our 1st dance was.
We danced to Ed Sheeran’s song Perfect.
Our DJ was Wade from Big Entertainment. I cannot thank this man enough. You were the life of our party and nothing you played was bad. You understood our rather diverse taste in music and you played the best music straight through. It was a party from start to finish, and that is exactly what we wanted.
We had a JOL!
