We had been friends for years, with more in common than we'd realized. Roger and I share the same love for God and passion for family, friends and people...especially the down trodden. We very quickly became good friends. Our friendship over the years developed into a beautiful, mature, deep and extremely peaceful love....and now we're best friends and cannot wait to become one on the 28th of September 2019. I have finally found THE ONE!!
It was not what i had expected at all, nothing i imagined it would be and more perfect than anything i could have dreamed of. I had arrived like i had done so many times before for a weekend visit, and as always us being re-joined is filled with excitement and love, and much hugging and gratitude at being together again.
So we're sitting in the caravan; which at the time was home for Roger; barefoot, in shorts and a T shirt, a glass of wine and our favourite snacks, fresh bunch of flowers on the table in front of me and my honey beside me. Roger gets up and i think it's to go to the loo.....fetches "something" out the cupboard, stands in front of me with box in hand...opens up the box as he goes down on 1 knee and says; "will you do me the honour of marrying me?" . well the rest is a blur...we cried and prayed together, thanking God for each other....it was literally an hour that Roger was on his knees, that is how caught up we were in the moment. Just writing this stirs emotions in me so deep it feels unreal. A moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life and beyond. I thank God that he brought us together and pray that we will a living testimoney to His goodness ....ALWAYS!
