It would be hard to name just one or two wedding highlights, as the entire day was a highlight for me. Everything and every part of that day, was a dream come true and utterly special to me.
For our honeymoon we went to beautiful,Thailand. Ever since we met, both of us always wanted to visit Thailand, so the perfect honeymoon destination was an easy decision to make. We went to Thailand for ten days - four days in Phuket, three days in Phi Phi Islands - which was my ultimate favourite, and three days in Krabi, Ao Nang. We had rice / noodles for breakfast, lunch and dinner almost every single day. Dishes like, Mango Sticky Rice and Pad Thai is a must when visiting Thailand. Visiting Thailand was such a fantastic experience. Photos of Thailand does not do this gorgeous and picturesque place justice. I saw the clearest water, swam with fish in the warm ocean and saw the most idyllic wonders of nature I have ever seen. We enjoyed our honeymoon in Thailand tremendously.
My beautiful wedding dress was designed by the talented, Johan Wolmarans. My wedding dress can be described as a trumpet style dress, with lots of delicate lace, and an illusion neckline and back. My gorgeous rose gold wedding heels, was bought from Opari online store. Our stunning makeup was done by the talented, Desireé Ungerer from Total Beautè. I had soft, romantic curls for my wedding day. Marlize Knoetze from MK Hair styled our hair. I bought my jewelry and my rose gold hair clip at Lovisa. Our getting ready robes and slippers were bought at Vows Bridal, and our getting ready shirts from Unique and Personal. My exquisite garters were made by Kary M Designs and my throwing garter by Johan Wolmarans.
After looking at multiple possible wedding venues, we decided on La Colline. La Colline is a country wedding venue, which can be found nestled in the lush greenery and natural beauty of Theesecombe, Port Elizabeth. La Colline is equipped with a charming stone chapel,a main hall, enclosed wrap-around balcony, and a magnificent timber deck, overlooking Port Elizabeth. I was speechless when I saw their charming wedding chapel for the first time. Their magnificent stone wedding chapel, boasts stunning chandeliers, and stacking doors, which open to the koi pond outside. The main hall itself is also gorgeous. La Colline can be described as a rather intimate wedding venue, it is equipped with hardwood floors and white roof trusses - with the most beautiful statement chandeliers.
Three months before our wedding, I started to go to the gym, eat healthy and had monthly facials. I also started using AP-24 (whitening toothpaste) from Nu Skin.
Floral Creations supplied our beautiful flowers and my bouquet for our wedding. The decor was done by, The Hire Warehouse. We also hired all the white wooden tables, as well as the white phoenix chairs from, The Hire Warehouse.
I wanted soft, simple and yet elegant decor. The decor for the tables consisted of floral runners (eucalyptus leaves, blinkblaar, blush roses and light pink chrysanthemums), a rose gold candelabra in the center, glass under plates, perspex and rose gold table numbers, lots of candles in crystal and rose gold vases, and a blush table runner.
The groom's whole attire was bought at Woolworths. He wore a navy suit, navy tie, white shirt and brown shoes. The groomsmen were dressed in navy pants (Truworths), white shirts, brown shoes and wore the same navy tie as the groom (Woolworths). The light grey jackets of the groomsmen, were hired from Peri's Suits in Port Elizabeth. Their personalized flasks and socks, were ordered from, "Unique and Personal" in Gauteng.
Johan Wolmarans also designed and made my bridesmaids, as well as my mother's dresses. Their dresses were a shade of dusty/blush pink, had a fit and flare shape and had beautiful lace on the bodice. My mother wore a navy dress.
