I am South African and my husband is from the UK. We planned everything from the UK with the help of my family here in South Africa. Arrived within a week of the wedding. I was married in my local church where I grew up and we share our anniversary with my parents. We lost about 9 guests due to a virus, which included two of my bridesmaids. Being a winter wedding, we were extremely lucky to have had a beautiful sunny day. Groenvlei Guest Farm is where we had our reception and it was set up beautifully. The food was amazing. Our first dance was magical with fairy lights and candles were lit up all around us. It was everything we dreamed it would be and more.
I am showing my husband more of SA, including his family who are here on holiday. We will be going to Madeira next year January for our honeymoon.
Simple but elegant makeup by Zita as well as hair. Half up style. Dress was made in New York by Mori Lee and altered in SA by Leonie Jardim. Shoes were bought on Amazon. I wore all my own jewellery which were given to me by my husband, which was a necklace, a pandora bracelet, a watch and a charm bracelet.
We had the ceremony at the Annunciation of Our Lady Catholic Church, which is our family church. The reception was at Groenvlei Guest Farm. My husband and I had a complimentary room with breakfast and rooms were booked for some of the family members.

I left everything to the last minute as it was very stressful with the planning of the wedding and work. I did try and do some exercise a week before the wedding which was pointless because I still had takeaways and junk food.
Flowers were provided by New Vintage Events. We had white Roses for bouquets, button holes and corsages as well as votives with white roses. We had tiffany chairs, round tables, lanterns and fairy lights that were provided by Groenvlei. Functions and Events provided white tablecloths, navy napkins, perspex candelabra, blue candles, mirror boxes, and clear underplates.

We had 3 groomsladies and one groomsman. The suits were hired three days before the wedding at Mr Suit Hire. The dresses were bought on Amazon. My husband wore blue trousers and a grey jacket with a white shirt and we had a navy waistcoat and cravat made by Leonie Jardim. We had personalised cufflinks made for my husband, his groomsman and my dad.
I had four bridesmaids and they wore navy, royal blue dresses. All styles were found on Pinterest and they were made by Leonie Jardim.
Father Stanley Botha was our priest who officiated the ceremony.
Our photographers were Stephanie Norman, who owns Milk and Honey Photography and she had an assistant photographer with her, who was Richard Winter. We also used Polaroid cameras for our guests to snap selfies of themselves, where they signed them and placed them in our wedding book for memories.
My mother, sister and one of my bridesmaids did most of the organising as I was in the UK. We also had an events coordinator at Groenvlei Guest Farm named Venitta Vorster who made sure the day ran smoothly.
My cousin, Miguel Edwards chauffeured myself and father to the ceremony, while my husband and his party travelled by mini bus (it was the only way as there were a lot of them). From the ceremony, my husband and I travelled with Miguel and the rest of the guests carpooled.
The food was prepared by the Staff at Groenvlei Guest Farm. We had lamb shoulder, pork neck, rice, potatoes and vegetables. For dessert we had malva pudding, pavlova and peppermint crisp tart. Our wedding cake was made by Kim's Cakes. It was a three tier cake, top was fruit, middle was vanilla sponge and bottom was chocolate.
Our labels and seating plan stickers were printed by Natasha Williams of Printalicious Personalised Printing. Most of the decor was provided by Functions and Events and the rest was provided at the venue. We also did a lot of DIY.
My husband surprised me to do our first dance outside underneath the fairly lights. It was extremely hard as it was on the grass and I had very high heels on but it looked amazing with the fairy lights. Our guests received favours which were candles and they were asked to stand around us with there candles lit. We did not take dance lessons. My husband isn't much of a dancer so we basically swayed but it was really amazing.
