On the 9th of August 2019 on bright sunny day in Pretoria I married my best friend and we celebrated the best day of our life.
When the doors opened and I saw him standing there waiting for me, I couldn’t be more excited that I was. The feelings that I’ve experienced thinking about being with him for the rest of my life cannot be described in words. It was such a special moment when I saw him for the first time that day. I felt so lucky and couldn't stop smiling.
The most important thing for us was to remember what the day is all about and that we had the amazing opportunity to celebrate this beautiful day with our family and friends.
What an amazing feeling to walk down the aisle to the best decision of your life, it felt like I had a million butterflies in my stomach. To walk down the aisle with my father next to me and see all the emotions everyone experience as we walk down the aisle has been very special to me. It was such a special moment to see all the tears of happiness and the love that everyone has for us.
My father was in a terrible motor vehicle accident 7yrs ago and took him longer than a year to start walking on his own. He had multiple operations to his leg, neck and spine. It was so special that my father could walk down the aisle with me.
We had a dance worked out by one of our friends for our entrance at the reception and we had everyone talking!
Everything was on point. The music, The Food was amazing and we had such special speeches. It was so special that we could experience the love other have for us.
We had family from Dubai, Australia and Canada that attended our wedding and it was a first time in many years that some of the family could see each other again.
When I think back to our wedding day I remember how everybody enjoyed it, all the laughter, the love and the wonderful emotions that all of us shared that day. I wouldn't change a thing.
We had the most amazing honeymoon in the Maldives.
I had a Beautiful, Illusions Bodice, Long Sleeve Wedding Gown with soft layer tulle Skirt Overly. The gown has a dramatic train with applique details and the back has a button over zip closure. It had geometric lace, Bon-Bon, tulle and mesh in champagne and off-White.

I had a different look for the reception. My dress had an overlay skirt that I removed while we took photos. I always wanted to feel like a princess and I definitely did. I decided to wear a tiara to provide the final touch to my princess look.
I went for a simple hairstyle look, a pulled back curly ponytail because my dress had lots of detail I decided to keep my hairstyle simple.
We got married at Lace on Timber. What an amazing venue and staff. I grew up in a small town called Marble Hall and I wanted to combine our wedding with a bushveld feeling with an elegant look and Lace on Timber gave me the feeling of home.
The chapel stole my heart from the first day that Ive seen it on a photo, when I saw it for the first time I knew that is where I want to have my ceremony.
Our parents, siblings and half of the bridal party spent the night at Lace on Timber and the rest of the Bridal party spent the night at De Haven Oost. Our family spent the night at Bullfrogs Nest
I kept my daily routine and facial products that I've been using. Did a peel and derma-pen session once a month. My friend is the one that made sure my skin is and will be on point for my wedding. She works with Bio MedicalEmporium. The Blondie specialist Made sure my hair color was on point every month ( I am actually a brunette, but love being a blond). ;) Megan from Megan Thomas hair took care of my extensions.
I started online training with Annelize Dohne in Jan 2019 and she took me through and assisted me to stay healthy and active. It was so important to have a time in the day where you can think of something else and not the wedding.
My husband booked pedicures, manicures and massages at least every second month to make the planning and preparation towards the wedding more relaxed.
I had orchids, roses, dahlias, greenery. Decoration was glass and crystal with a centerpiece stand on half of the tables.
My wedding colors was Burgundy, Navy, Rose Gold and dusty pink.
Belle doux decor supplied some of my decorations
Estie van Wyk did my flowers.
My bouquet was orchids and beautiful blue and pink roses.

Planning my wedding has been such an amazing journey. We moved to Cape Town a year before we got married and decided to get married in Pretoria, because that is where we grew up, most of our friends and family are closer to Pretoria and that is where Lace on Timber is. :)
I travelled a lot up and down between Pretoria and Cape Town and it was such an amazing time. I can honestly say it wouldn't be possible without my mom and Estie.
My mom made sure that Ill have the perfect day.
Lucuano from Lace on Timber assisted us in so many ways.
