Location: Umzolozolo Safari Lodge, Nambithi
The mini-moon was a complete surprise. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to first class service, lovely staff and incredible views. The food, safari game drives, massages and excellent game viewing made it a memorable weekend away. We saw 4 of the big 5. I will never forget having sun-downers out in the bush and coffee the next morning with the sun coming up.
Our tickets are booked for December's cruise to the Portuguese Islands. This will be a first for both of us. It has always been a childhood dream of mine to go on the Cruise Ships for my honeymoon.
We got married at the breath taking Haycroft Farm. The wedding venue is set on the waters edge, with picturesque views in all directions. Nestled on a farm in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, we were surrounded by everything that is naturally beautiful. The country venue provided accommodation for 60 guests. The remaining guests were able to stay on nearby farms.
The groom looked handsome in his navy suit. Since the groom had to stand out, he wore a floral tie, while the groomsmen wore matching floral design bow ties from HIS Apparel. They also supplied the groomsmen with suspenders. The funky socks are from Botthms. They got everyone talking.

I got the crisp sage green halter dresses made for my bridesmaids. I really wanted them to feel comfortable and love what they wear, so they got to choose the design. They looked amazing!
Our marriage officer was Evlyn Hodgson (Leef Gemeente). He also led our premarital counselling.
What we loved about Evlyn: Although we are not members of his church, he welcomed us with such a warm and friendly spirit. He provided us with Godly wisdom, encouragement and advise. His special sense of humour definitely added laughter and fun to our ceremony.
Laura Jean Photography helped us capture the natural moments of the emotions so effortlessly! With subtle direction, we felt comfortable in front of the camera! The album is so special and sentimental.
Conway was our videographer. We loved their suggestion of using smoke bombs, which came out spectacularly! We had so much fun during the creative shoot. Their use of drones captured the full essence of the beautiful day and the location.
I must admit - I had a very hands on - fiance! Who needs a wedding planner? Although, Hamblins & Haycroft did provide a coordinator on the big day!
I was privileged to have my dad drive us to the chapel in my late grandfather's 1981 Mercedes Benz. Coincidentally, it was the same vehicle I was fetched from the hospital the day I was born.

Our grand entrance into the reception venue was fun, as we marched into the room with the song from "The Greatest Showman". The reception venue looked spectacular and was arranged according to exactly how we envisioned it. For our first dance we chose "Laaste asem" by the Afrikaans duo, Hulle.
