My fiance and I met on social media... I guess it was the only way that God could bring us together, I say this because he is a very homely guy doesn't go out much, and I worked for hospitality at the time so I never had much of a social life, I never went out or socialized that much... He messaged me on social media and n we chatted for an entire year before we actually gained the courage to meet one another... N everything after that has been a blessing truly from God
My fiance and I started dating in December 2016 and he told me that before 2017 was over he would propose to me, he never said the month or where n how he would do it, but my fiance is the type of person when he says he will do something he will keep to his word... So 2017 came n was almost over and I had forgotten about what he had said I never bothered much about it either coz I thought that maybe he was still saving for my ring lol... However on 23rd December 2017 we went for a family outing with his family to beach bums for lunch, lil did I know this was the day he was going to propose, prior to this I even told him i don't feel like going n he said i had too lol... Upon arrival him and his brothers and one of the brothers gfs had taken a walk to the beach and I never thought of it being strange however she had the treasure box hidden in her bag and so she needed to go with them to hide it in the sand... I still never suspected their weird behaviors lol...they had placed the treasure box in the sand n got back to me and my fiance asked me to take a walk with him to which I replied back saying it's too hot to take a walk on the beach lol, he persuaded me to take a short walk to which I finally agreed.. When we got to the beach I still never noticed the treasure box, I noticed his cousins husband with a camera but still it never hit me coz my fiance and him have a photography business so I assumed he was just taking out random pics of the ocean for his fb page..lol... My fiance had to let me know that there was a treasure box on the ground, I had a very blonde moment when I saw it, even when I picked it up there was a letter inside this box which he created to look like an old ancient letter, hence I still didn't know what was happening, I read this letter which was so beautiful and I thought to myself who is this sweet person who left this box here proclaiming his love for the woman of his dreams... Our picture was a background on this letter however I still never noticed it and I blamed the sun for it... Lol half way thru the letter only did i notice our picture and I froze.. I knew then that something was happening, but there was nothing in the letter to confirm to me that he was proposing, so after I read the letter he tells me there's a bracelet he bought for me to match my Christmas dress and that is my gift, I looked at him and thought to myself u went thru all this trouble to give me a bracelet lol I could have killed him, he laughed when he saw my expression, and then he knelt down and he spoke to me which I still cannot remember what he had said to me.... N then took out the ring from his pocket, I had no emotions bcoz I was absolutely shocked, I was frozen I remember he had to ask for my hand to put the ring on lol lol... However going back home reading the letter again, that's when it hit me and I cried... It was the most beautiful proposal he really surprised me and I cannot wait to marry this man... I have uploaded the letter on my profile...
My wedding was on the 20th july 2019 and it was the most beautiful, most memorable day of my life when i got to marry the man of my dreams. Everything we had worked so hard for during the planning had come to pass so beautifully on the day, everything we imagined it to be and so much more. Despite the ice cold front on the day but guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, from the very entertaining mc and his funny games that gor guests interacting with the crowd, to the delicious meals and Desserts and finally to the talented dj and his team who had the guests not wanting to leave the dance floor and go homw. It was truly a day and night to remember..
Due to us spending alot on oyr wedding day there was not enough to do a proper honeymoon, finances was not on our side, we are from durban kzn and we would have hoped to have went somewhere out of Dbn however financially it was not possible so we ended settling for a 3 night stay at the coastlands ridge road in durban
The look i was going for was a princess look but i still wanted to be a bit more comfortable in time for our first dance as we has practised a very fun mash up for oyr first dance and i wouldn't have been able to do it in my big ball gown. So i opted for a detachable wedding gown.. I chose to go with the house of coutour bridal boutique, i bought from them a princess ball gown skirt and i got them to make my inner dress.. My hair and make up was done by bridal moments with Theshen and he did a phenomenal job, my hair was in a high bun look with a high tiara with very natural make up, i opted for navy blue suede tie block heels which matched perfectly my jewelry was very minimal with just big earrings and a high crown like tiara
I got married at the winchester function venue in reservoir hills durban... guests left to their various homes after the after party
I didn't really have any of this done by anyone due to the lack of finances as all our money went on the actual wedding day and for our suppliers so i just did stuff at home like steam my face at home and homemade scrubs using brown sugar, honey and lemon
My flowers for my deco were artificial but really stunning going with my colour theme being silver blue and white, and my boquets were done by a local florist i had white roses with baby breath and greenery for my bridesmaids with navy blue ribbon and red roses boquet for myself
My husband's suit was burgundy from euro suit and our grooms mens suits were dark shimmery silver and navy blue bow ties and waist coats from debonairs suit hire
They all bought their own dresses ftom various stores but beautiful navy blue evening dresses
It was my pastor, pastor Patrick Patha
Photography and videography was done by Christina's Artistry and our photobooth service was gifted to us by crazy photobooths
No my husband and i planned it all ourselves
My husband and his groomsmen came in a blue range rover and i came with mt girls in a limo which i hired
Food was prepared by the venue and my cake was done by whisked away
A local printer company in newlands west durban
It was absolutely fun, our mc played lots of fun games with the guests, our dj and sound and lighting was done by rhythm city sound and lighting and we did take dance lessons we did a very fun mash up where u dance for a slow song and then it stops and a couple of fast songs play after that, our dance instructor was peta and her dance school is called durban dance centre. She was amazing
