Wow, time went by so quickly - yet, there's two moments that's stuck in my mind ever since our wedding day.
1. The moment I walked in and saw him for the first time that day, I could feel my face light up without any doubtful thoughts. I knew - THIS IS IT....
2. Our first dance as Mr & Mrs....... That is just a speech for another day - knowing both of us are absolutely crazy about "sokkie" and also that we do dance quite good together - this one is definitely one "sokkie" to remember.
We took 3 nights off - since we already have a 15month old son, I thought it was necessary. THIS IS NOT OUR HONEYMOON THOUGH, we are planning a Thailand trip for next year as soon as our baba is old enough to stay a week at grandma's....
Well we never want the whole glamorous, R100 000 wedding. Our aim was just for everyone to have fun and enjoy the evening with us.
I got myself a pre-loved wedding dress from TWICE IS NICE and just altered it a bit to fit my needs of the perfect wedding dress. Super cheap and definitely worth it.
My husband and I decided on wearing vellies we got from Veldskoen vellies/MOORS.co.za I got the pink ones and he got grey. We got vellies for our son at plaasmeisie.co.za since we had his christening right after the ceremony
Accessories and jewelry - I went for what I got that's amazing at a good price, Lovisa is one of my shops.
We had the ceremony on a farm, which a very close friend of ours own. Yes, we had a wedding outside, in the middle of winter. But it was amazing.
The reception was held at the MEANDER HALL which is a place an amazing couple set up a few months ago for an extra income. The hall was amazingly set up. Draping, places set up, tables, chairs EVERYTHING.... Amazing..
Meander Hall is situated, well kind of in the middle of everything so our guests booked the self a place at one of the "100" guest houses near by. St. Ives and Woodland Forest are two of the many I could name.
I literally just went with I was comfortable with - and quite frankly, I was happy with myself and comfortable with who I was.
Plain, simple yet creative and elegant... We tried to do as much as possible ourselfs..
Khaki Chinos with white shirts and an Old Khaki sleeves puffer jacket with vellies.
We got the mustard yellow bridesmaid dressed from Fashion world but we tried dying them burgundy. The top part of the dress which was lace material was the only part that took the color and we decided to keep it that way.
Pastor Carl Kalamer but a good friend of ours, Hannes Kriel did the service at the Ceremony
Karen Pienaar From Belle Ami Studio, what an amazing woman. We are in love with our photos and we were so super comfortable with her... It was such an honor having her as part of our wedding.
We literally did everything ourselfs.
We had an old fashioned farm wedding, we had a lamb on the spit, "pap en sous", with carrot and pineapple salad, cawl slaw and "mieliebrood". We also made a butternut soup for the time being while we were taking photos.
A guy named Chris did the spit for us, he is from Maritzburg, the rest we did ourselfs before hand.
The Bistro @ 30 degrees sponsored our wedding cake. And Ouma made our mieliebrood...
I did them myself with creative help from my best friend
We had a DJ who is an old friend of ours, Con van Der Merwe. He is from Warden in the Freestate.
Lighting was offered by the Meander Hall.
