How did your love story begin?

We met in a mutual group of friends and due to Monray's introverted personality we only started courting after 2 years and irregular chats in between.
A deep trust in one another, patience and an unwavering friendship is the foundation of our relational success.
We are in sync with our goals, future events and share many similarities on different levels and are able to ENJOY each others silence and presence just fine (when I'm not babbling).
How we compliment, unpack, embrace one another's weaknesses and flaws always stood out for me. The realness, the rawness, the mistakes and resilience.

Tell us all about the proposal.

Monray's proposal was simplistic (as I'd ALWAYS hoped) but just so precious. Private, spontaneous and caught me off guard in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch after sunset. The proposal was an unique act of faith and assurance in our journey to date and future endeavors. His precision and confidence will be a memory I'll never forget. A true representation of us.
We are BLESSED to be able to marry for love.
I look forward to spending forever with my answered prayer and true love
Everything was worth it

Magical Moments

A day of love and magic..
After an entire week of rain, we were graced with an amazing winters day in the heart of the Riebeek Valley.
A memory of not being able to fall asleep the night before and waking up with feelings of so many strange mixed emotions and anticipations, all perfectly normal for a bride-to-be.
From prepping most of the detail myself and having to eventually delegating, as I was forced to get dressed and not run around with a gown and pin clips around the lawn (hahaha).
All the "faffing" and formalities was very overwhelming, I could clearly remember not wanting to be too late and also just hoping everything has fell into place beautifully and that Monray was okay too.
From dressing, to make-up and hair with worship music softly playing in the background, it was all perfect as I reminisceso clearly.
Promising our vows was so sacred and special. Signing the register as a newly wed was surreal and the atmosphere was filled with peace and being content.
Our wedding was truly a memorable day, shared with loved ones from near and far.
Dancing the night away, eat and cheering in celebration will be something that will remain a pleasant memory for us forever.

The Honeymoon

We were so blessed to be able to visit Thailand for 7 tropical days!
The culture, food and exceptional people made up for the extreme heat and long hours travels.

My Special Day

I was going for a whimsical, romantic, yet elegant look.
My hair inspo derived from the strong urge to have an atypical bridal hairstyle, and rather something more classical with less accesories.
A natural make-up look was always something I desired, nothing too "heavy" and fake. I still wanted to look like myself.
With my wedding dress I was a bit more conventional as I battled with body-image and body-esteem. So I opted for a more covered up but yet sexy and a bit flirty too.
I did not put too much thought into my lingerie, shoes and accessories. I just wanted to be comfortable in my shoesand underwear and have minimal jewelry, as my dress bodice was "busy" and hairstyle was down too.

The Venue

Groenrivier Function Centre.
Only 11 family members from Port Elizabeth in the venues guesthouse.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I must admit that I wasn't the very best at consistency with being so busy, and I am striving to be a fitness driven person . However, I tried working out 4 times a week minimally and of those 4 times, twice with my personal trainer. I indulged in a a green smoothie dailyand made dietary changes, I've always been a lover of water. I changed my toothpaste and was very religious regarding my dental appointments as well as facials and the use of my facial products.

Wedding Elements

The feel of our wedding was warm, cozy, floral and rustic all at once.
We made use of Mozzafiato Events and the furniture of the venue itself.
Chandeliers, tiffany chairs, wooden rustic tables, very minimalistic decor and table elements.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My husband and groomsmen, as well as my dad were dressed in a tuxedo hired from Mr Suit Hire. A burgundy jacket with black lining and a black pants.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My Bridal Party wore custom made dresses in black barbie material, made by Meliza Meyer from Meliza Clothing. They chose their own style to flatter their body shapes and person styles.

Marriage Officer

My Marriage Officer was Ps. Stanley Dudley, my father-in-law.

My Captured Moments

Our beautiful and talented Photographer, Rezaine Desai from Rezaine Desai Photography captured all our beautiful memories and VIA TV doing the videography.
We had no photobooth.

The Wedding Planner

I did not make use of a Wedding Planner.

Wedding Transport

Our ceremony and reception took place of the venue itself, so there was no need for wedding transport.

Food & Cake

Our catering was managed by Malita and Maudre Joubert Catering, they also made our cake.

Wedding Stationery

I made use of the following stationery service providers:
1. Liquerish Laser-Cutting and Printing
2. Little Woodpecker- You Quote, We Cut
3. Busy Lizzy Creations

The Reception and Entertainment

We made use of DJ.
DJ Rodwill (Rotte) from Malmesbury, he handled all the sound and lighting.
We practiced our dance moves by ourselves.
