Our ceremony at the dam was absolutely breathtaking. A light breeze created these beautiful ripples in the water. And just after the ceremony a little rain passed revealing a magical rainbow!!! It was if the heavens were rejoicing which was especially emotional for us as both our dads are late.
One of the priorities we set out for ourselves when planning the wedding was to ensure we spare no expense with our honeymoon. We went to the Maldives, Cocoon resort and stay in a water villa. This was a true paradise on earth! We swam with the turtles, manta ray and even sharks!
We had a traditional white wedding. But I also changed into an eastern outfit for the reception to honour our Indian heritage. The white dress was a showstopper from La Principessa. Corset style with netted sleeves and bodice, Swarovski crystals and layers of chantely lace. The train was long and dramatic. Veil, jewellery and hair was kept simple as it was all about the dress. My second outfit was a designer two piece from the famous Memsaab, which I managed to get on sale (lucky me). It was a traditional red and beige piece with a heavy stone worked skirt and unique blouse with netted sleeves. I wore the traditional heavy Indian jewellery from head to toe.
Eagles Cry wedding venue in tongaat. Guests did not stay over as it was near home.
I try to eat healthily normally. But for my wedding I was extra disciplined. Cutting out carbs so I could look amazing in my beautiful outfits. My mum and sister and I treated ourselves to a spa day. I had a facial, eyelashes, and nails done the week of the wedding.
I wanted the venue to look like a forest. So we had hanging rings of greenery from the ceiling. And tons of flowers on the tables. Tables were wooden to keep the natural rustic theme. Not much needed to be done with this amazing venue.
The groom wore a dark blue tailor made suit by Gangaram tailors. With tan shoes and belt. His accessories were gifts I’d bought for him whilst dating.
We did not have a retinue

I arrived in my brother in laws sports car (Mercedes Benz GTS) and the groom in his best friends sports car (Maserati GT).
All catering was done by the venue, Eagles Cry. The food was amazing. Especially the canapés and desserts
The reception was one big party, exactly how we wanted it! My aunty and late Dad were professional ballroom champions and my aunt taught us a simple dance as the groom has two left feet! He forgot a few steps but it was still amazing.
