We have always been fascinated by the Movie 'Beauty and the Beast'. PJ (my husband) used snippets from this movie to design and develop our wedding invitation. Our venue (Monte de Dios) which means mountain of God was perfect as it was a replica of the TV Series, Games of Thrones. We decided to be different and therefore decided to have our wedding reception on the Friday evening (7 June) and our Wedding ceremony on the the Saturday (8 June, the official 'day'). For me the most special moment was when PJ said yes.
When we went to Italy. First we went to Sicily and boarded the most gorgeous cruise ship in the world, the Bellisima (MSC). We disembarked in Naples and spent our last 7 days on the Amalfi Coast, Italy
The Friday evening I was dressed up in an unique Gothic, yet classical piece with a hand-made mask on my face. Towards the better half of the Friday evening, I took off the mask to show the natural beauty underneath the mask (in a fairy tale style). For the Saturday, I choose a classic Victorian dress and my husband in an ultra modern Italian outfit.
We got married at Monte de Dios (mountain of God), Zwavelpoort, Pretoria.
My husband is an international professional personal trainer. So my body, mind and health was top standard.
One of our best friends provided the live music, Abe Traveros. Our decor, flowers, furniture and food was similar to that of an Italian Wedding.
PJ ordered all his clothes for the Friday and Saturday, including shoes from Bogart in Woodlands Shopping Centre (an unique Italian boutique).

My bridesmaids were my 2 beautiful daughters, Michaela and Mia.
Reverend Glynis Goyns from the St Francis Presbyterian Church. She was also our wedding preparation counselor. and confidant.
Primarily 2 of our best friends were photographers but everyone was allowed to take photos. This allowed us not to pose, but to be natural.
This one is the best. My husband, PJ Weir-Smith organised not only my amazing bachalorette and boudair, but acted as my personal stylist and coordinator.
First of all, we did not have to travel because we stayed over at the venue. However, my big surprise as bride was when PJ said, 'let's go book in at the airport'. The vehicle was a Mercedes Benz convertible with the roof down and a classic combination of balloons and cans, dragging behind the vehicle.
The chef at Monte de Dios was the lead for the food on the Friday. However, I best friend and very recently passed away friend, decorated the Cheese Case (photo in library)
We did our own invitations, including all the stationery and paper.
Abe Travaros provided the live music as well as the lighting. Both PJ and I have been very fortunate to dance at various events, so it came natural to us on the day.
