Magical Moments

25 May 2019 itself and getting married to my husband Graeme, is the highlight of my life. Knowing that you are created for someone and how God brings everything together made our day just perfect!!! Even more than what we could have imagined. There are not just one specific moment but every minute of our day will be forever memorable in my life. If I should highlight a few moments it would be the moment I saw my groom standing at the end of the aisle in his perfectly tailored suit, so handsome, I forgot about everyone else. My 93 year old granny whom a few days earlier told me she would not be able to join us on our wedding day, when I saw her I could not do anything else but burst out in tears!!!

The Honeymoon

We were on holiday for a whole lovely 3 weeks of which one week we spent in Pringle Bay - as a gift from my aunt, a few days in Tsitsikama Lodge and Spa where we ziplined and was treated with their lovely honeymoon suite and a massage and then ventured off for a few days stay in Pine Lake Marine in Sedgefield

My Special Day

I opted for a plain but elegant look with minimal jewelry so that my wedding dress creation would be accentuated. My hair was styled by my very good friend and we decided on loose and wavy look. My make up was also done by the talented Chanel Wewege who knew the exact tone to bring out the best in me. I have never felt so beautiful thanks to these absolute talented people.

The Venue

Our fairytale day played off at the Award winning Wedding Venue, The Plantation,, Sardinia Bay, Port Elizabeth. There is definately a reason why they are award winning. From day one, Sarah one of the owners made us feel at home and together with all the staff, they carried a great deal in the fact that our day was everything we hoped and prayed for. From planning to delivery, we had a smooth sailing in wedding planning and can't really say that we had a stressful wedding planning journey. They have a beautiful bridal suite which they made available for other photoshoots outside our scheduled time and even that small gesture meant so much. The staff really make you feel that your day are as important to them as it is to you and they are always available to answer your questions. There are accomodation available should guests need it.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I am quite a plain jane hahahaha so other than a full body massage here and there I did not have a specific routine. I was just mindful of what I ate and went for regular hair treatments with Jenny as I always do

Wedding Elements

Our decor package was included in the venue. We opted for blush and burgundy with a light touch of rosegold. The burgundy presents masculanity and the blush and rosegold tones it down with its sensuality and softness. The colours presented itself quite complementary and reminded me specifically what marriages out to be, the wife to the husband. From past experience I thought it would be the one thing that might be stressful but what an absolute relief when we met Lynley Cusens from Floral Creations. We met with Lynley once and she knew exactly what we wanted. She listened excitedly and at the same time advised what was available. We enjoyed our lively meeting and knew that we had nothing to worry about and on our wedding day her creation was exactly as we discussed and we loved it!!!! Our colours and theme presented itself from my bouquet throughout the venue. A little bit cloeser to home, my brother Keith George, created our entrance welcoming sign ( I have found the one whom my soul desires) with his own creativity using 'something old' and turning it into 'something new'. A few months later my bouquet is still standing in our home, dried out but in all its glory and our welcome sign still welcomes guests in our house

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Graeme was handsomely dressed by The Tailor Shop in Cape town. We were on an exam outing in Cape town and decided to venture out and see what Burgundy suits were available. We were looking for a specific shade of burgundy and while searching through all the shops we came across this hidden place in Kloof Street. Again, what a welcoming we received, Domonique, the owner advised us on the type of material and accessories he would need to complete his look. And so we learnt about french cufflings and wide neck collars- I thought all collars looked the same hahahaha. We now look with new eyes to shirt collars. Graeme was measured from head to toe which caused him to be the most handsome groom with a tailored suit that fitted to the tee

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids are my three closest ladies, friends and sisters, who know and except me for who I am. They were the ones that joined in our happiness and new exactly about our journey. Together with my little flower girl, they were dressed by Heather Toms Comptom at Chocolate for breakfast in lovely blush off shoulder dresses.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was our own Pastor from our church, Pastor Lionel Damons

My Captured Moments

Ashwell and his brother, Adrian from Ashtwinz Photography are the artists who captured the moments we did not even know about. I think photographers are probably of the most important people to have a relationship during this planning time. They are the ones who will allow your day to be replayed over and over and allow you into moments of that day you didn't even know about. As your wedding day are so swift its because of them you can replay it at your own leisure. We are blessed to have them as friends and that they could capture and understand exactly what we wanted, from preshoot to even a post wedding shoot

The Wedding Planner

The Plantation assisted with most wedding planning, leaving you as the couple with very minimal to do other than to sort out other vedors.

Wedding Transport

One of our friends Amien offered to be our wedding car.

Food & Cake

Food was also included in our venue wedding package and the most delicious dishes were served. Our guests still talks about it.
Our wedding cakes have a small story. Baked by Margie Blaauw, Margeret Erasmus and Vania van Wyk.

Wedding Stationery

Staionery was lovingly done by my brother, Keith George

The Reception and Entertainment

Our reception was lively and everyone ended up on the dance floor. With canapes, we had live music from a close friend and colleague of mine, the talented Rikalet Mostert and husband Matthew.
At reception our DJ was TBozz
Our first dance was on Leela James- Fall for you. We freestyled and just enjoyed the moment with each other, no dancing lessons.
