They say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck and that your marriage will be blessed. On our special day not only did rain...it poured! This did not dampen the mood, and in fact made for a cosy environment and beautiful pictures filled with laughs and unique shots.
Our guests
We started this journey into forever in the presence of our closest family and friends who came from near and far to celebrate with us. Our guests were very jovial. They brought their smiles and such warmth to make this day a memorable one for us.
The ceremony
I look back at the moment I walked down the aisle to see my then soon-to-be-husband waiting for me with only joy, and the visual will be forever etched in my heart. Our minister had the crowd cheering with his sermon which left us excited to say our vows and finally be husband and wife.
The venue and décor
Seeing how the décor came together and was exactly as I had fantasied was the icing on the cake. From the flowers that hung from the ceiling, linens delicately draped across the base beams and candles illuminating a warm glow throughout the room. Our band and lead vocalist serenaded us into the night further adding to the delightful ambiance.
Our wedding song
We chose “Perfect" by Ed Sheeran ft. Beyonce as we could relate to the words and felt that they described how blessed we felt to have found each other. Our first dance signaled the first steps we were taking together into this new chapter in our lives, and I could not help but smile throughout.
All of this culminated in a celebration filled with laughter and dancing that lasted into the early hours of the morning.
We went to Bali. This Indonesian paradise was all we imagined it would be and more.
My makeup goal was to look like the best version of myself, to be timeless and still be identifiably me. My dress was by Viola Chan. It had a sweetheart neckline and mermaid shape with a flowy bottom. My hair was in a wavy updo, secured with a diamante hair comb.
We got married at the Netherwood Farm in the KZN Midlands. We had our family and closest friends in the 20 sleeper cottage. Some guests opted to book into the chalets which were also on the farm.
Kerry Dinkelman of Kerry’s Flowers played a dual role as florist and venue decorator. She did such an incredible job.
My bridesmaids wore flowy floor length gowns by SnB designs. It was important to me that they were comfortable and that their individual personalities shone through the personalized designs.
Pastor Sandile Ngidi officiated our wedding.
Tanya Jacobs of Tanya Jacobs Photography was our photographer and Shaun Tarr our videographer.
I planned my wedding with the support of my husband, with close friends and family helping me with the coordination.
I got most of my designs on-line and did the printing myself. A couple of my bridesmaids assisted me in putting it together nicely.
We had both a live band during the main reception and a DJ for the after party. Both kept us entertained and on our feet all night long. Sound and lighting by DJ Ruff, LiveBand Beate Route, vocal Nosihe Zulu.
