It was the best day of our lives. For me personally, the highlight was waiting at the front of the alter and watching my wife to be walk towards and down the isle.
Yes, we went to Umfolozi, then got spoiled for a night in the presidential suit at the Oyster Box and then went to Indonesia for 2 weeks.
Abingdon Wine Estate in the Midlands. We had the most phenomenal day there with wine farm /snack platter eating and exceptional wine. Jane and her team were amazing. This upper market dining venue isn't an advertised wedding venue but choose a select few throughout the year. If you are wanting intimate, beautiful surroundings and an open wedding then Abingdon is the place for you. If you want a loud raucous wedding with big numbers, then I suggest looking else where.
At 5.30pm we walked across the road to Clydesdale for a bonfire by the river and a major party. Dave the owner built a massive bonfire pit right on the river and dressed the lovely oak with decorative lighting to go over the DJ booth. He goes the extra mile and isn't afraid of some noise and fun.
It was a very, very special day and evening
The combination of the two venues made it the best day of our lives, and as far as our guest reviews go it was well received by all.
Open plan outside, the natural beauty of the wine farm required zero decor
Skip from Grace Umhlanga church. He was witty, to the point and delivered some moving comments about marriage. Exceeded expectation and was a complete hit with the guests.
Jessica Moya MacLeod was brilliant. We recieved our photos within 3 weeks, they were great and she gave us edited and raw images. She also went the extra mile as far as research and meeting us on site before our big day. Although not a self proclaimed dedicated wedding photographer, Jess does shoot several though the year. Her full time work is photographer and shoot director at Mr Price. jessicamoyamacleod@gmail.com
No planner, we were pretty relaxed and Jane from Abingdon and my MC Matt Dennington covered the rest.
All food was provided by Abingdon Wine Estate. The cake was from a separate supplier
