The day prior to the wedding, I landed up having a complete nervous breakdown. Everything was running through my mind and having no control over the day had left me feeling overwhelmed. After a consoling talk by Keegan (my then fiance), I felt at ease knowing that he had my back; as did my friends and family.
The day ran like clock work and every single detail was perfectly on point. Walking down the aisle with my mom, sister and best friends by my side was such a special moment. When we stopped in front of the chapel, all I could see was Keegan. From that time onwards, that's the only person I saw.
We had one of Keegan's best friends complete our vow ceremony. He had asked each of our closest friends for a line to add to our vows. It was beyond special.
We had another friend say a prayer and two more sobrage as we came through into the reception area. The food was superb and flowed all night. We had an amazing jazz band, aperols, craft beers and our closest people.
Yes, to Mauritius. It was a gift from my husband's grandparents
We went for dramatic makeup and simple accessories to compliment and enhance my dress. My hair was weaved into a beautiful upstyle. With my dress being a mermaid style dress, I wore Superga platforms with silk laces for comfort.

They offer 12 rooms so our close family and friends spent the weekend at the venue while the rest stayed close by. The accommodation was perfect and the breakfast was delicious.

I kept my nails maintained - twice a month for fills at Vanilla in Linden. I also went for monthly facials and continued on a strict training regime. With Ironman 70.3 coming up there was enough motivation and my coaches played an instrumental role in getting me 'wedding ready'.
We used greenery with subtle floral accents such as cabbage roses. We really loved the idea of naturals for our day and this was the theme throughout. The venue, Whispering Thorns handled all of this effortlessly.
Keegan (groom) wore a suit from Tiger of Sweden and the groomsmen were dressed by Zara.
Bridesmaids were each dressed by Laryne Jefferies Fashion in their own custom dress. My bridesmaids were from Cape Town (2), London (5) and Johannesburg (1) but each dress was perfectly fitted. Accessories by White Lily Bridal.

Initially I wasn't going to have any wedding transport but based on my dress, this was needed. We asked Keegan's aunt if we could use her new Range Rover on the day.
Whispering Thorns made the food and the wedding cake was by Royal Cakes.

My cousin, Lieze Coetzee designed the stationary and we had it locally printed by Vault Marketing.
We did take dance lessons prior however on the day we just wanted to relax. We danced to 'Fly me to the moon - Frank Sintara' and had a band for the ceremony and prior to the reception - Jazz Lyric. Thereafter we used P3 Productions as our DJ.
