This is not such a simple question- The perfection of our special day was more than i could ever ask for or imagine. As would any bride say, the first moment I saw my groom standing a few feet away would have to be the pinnacle moment for me. Being showered with love and support the morning of was beautiful, every hour that swept by getting pampered and ready with my four girls was beautiful, the moment i finally put my wedding gown on for the final time was beautiful and of course, meeting my dad for the first time that day in my wedding gown was tearfully-beautiful. Wearing my mom-in-loves veil was beautiful. Seeing my moms eyes stay focused on me while getting ready was beautiful. All these moment were memorable and highlights as my day was so perfect- its actually an understatement. Marrying not only my best friend but my one and only -forever- was the best of all that nothing could ever beat.
We left for Mauritius two days after our wedding day for one week. Paradise and food is all i can say!!
I wanted an elegant wedding look but i still wanted to look like "me". However, my final look came out better than i could have ever imagined. I was pacing around the morning of with tight curlers in my hair and actually did not have an idea what to do with my hair as yet but Erika Ruth De Kock from KMS South Africa pulled off this breathtaking hairstyle which most of all my guest were in awe. Erika braided my hair and ended with a messy bun at the bottom- you have to take a look at the image of my hair to understand the beauty of it. I cant get over how my colour came out, i really wanted a platinum blonde and my precious friend and maid of honour, Sasha Pereira from Hair by Sasha conquered that! My makeup came out even better than the trial, i did two days prior. Bianca Mccan is the best makeup artist i have ever come across. She had to hide a mountain of a pimple that arrived on my forehead the day of my wedding (typical, i know) and yet she made me look like the bride i have always dreamed of. My dress was my piece of perfection that shone with grace and purity. It was breathtaking. My jewellery was very simple and not too much. Rosegold is my jewellery colour so my mom-in-love bought me stunning rosegold earrings which were precious and my groom (then) gave me a beautiful gift on the day which was a rosegold petite bracelet. it all came together so perfectly!
We got married at a venue called Lezar Opstal Wedding Venue in Heidelburg. It is a beautiful rustic but chic farm venue. We chose it because my husband enjoys more of the rustic atmosphere and i enjoy the elegance of a place so this worked perfect for us. Best of both worlds. This venue did have accommodation whereby all of our immediate family and all of our groomsmen and bridemaids stayed over. The rest of our family and friends were spread at accommodations around the venue as there is so many around to choose from. We made our wedding a weekend away wedding so celebrations started on Friday and ended that Sunday.
I like to keep active so i kept to my normal training routine and more normal eating habits however the stress and excitement of a wedding can be a natural diet! I did go facials at Annique Salon once a month about 4 months prior to my wedding and i did get a massage here and there but i kept things pretty normal as i wanted to be "me" on my wedding day.
Our pastor from our Church married us. He walked with us through our journey leading up to marriage therefore to have Ps. Devon from Rivers Church Sandton marry us was more than special and meaningful to us. Ps. Devon passed on a incredible message to us and our guest in the chapel and all of our guest spoke about his message for weeks after.
M Photography captured our perfect day and got every shot and moment captured. Maryna made it fun and made us feel comfortable while shooting the day away. Our videographer Pink Flower Productions was so perfect. Bernard was so involved and i am so glad i decided on a videographer. He was so quick and efficient with the release of our video and he put it together so perfectly.
The food at our wedding was a massive hit as per all of our guests. The venue offered their dining services as it was proper whole-heartedly home-cooked, wholesome food. We had a great selection and was phenomenal. Our cake was a two-tier cake which chocolate and vanilla. It was so simple yet so elegant! You have to see a picture to appreciate how amazing it was. It was made at The Victorian Secret in benoni. - Amazing
