We truly had such a perfect and memorable wedding day...it turned out exactly how we wanted!
What started out as a very rainy and wet day, changed to a calm overcast afternoon.
A beautiful setting for our beautiful day. From sipping bubbly with my bridesmaids while getting ready to getting that butterfly feeling before walking down the isle. It's difficult to point out one highlight because everything that day felt like one but a very special moment was seeing my future husband while coming down the isle with my father. Knowing that I will be spending a lifetime with my best friend. Dancing and having a good time with all our friends and family definitely stood out too, listening to our friends and family saying the most kind, loving words about us and watching it rain at the end of a perfect day was very special and such a blessing from God.
We went on honeymoon and it was AMAZING!!! He surprised me with tickets to go on the MSC Musica Cruise ship. We sailed from Durban to the Portuguese Islands near Mozambique. We were treated like royalty. Wonderful food and service. Cocktails for breakfast, lunch and dinner, different shows every night, snorkeling with the most beautiful fishes in the clearest water I've ever seen, fancy dress up dinners with wine and the best company. It was a special trip where some South African artists like Kurt Darren and Lianie May joined the cruise for a Super Sokkie, they perfomed almost every day and was great to dance to. We really had the best time and it was the perfect way to start out adventure as husband and wife.
I got my wedding dress from Casa Blair Bridal in Port Elizabeth. My dress was a Modeca dress (Dutch brand) from the Le Papillon collection called Elvira. I chose it because it had all the right details. The illusion neckline, the romantic lace back, the fit and flair silhouette and the elegant train. It was something different than what I thought I would choose for myself. I loved it and it made me feel beautiful.
I chose an up hair-do because I wanted the beautiful back of my dress to be open so everyone can see. Happy Hair Days in Kareedouw was the salon that I chose to do my hair by a lady called Denise Levy. She also did my mother and bridesmaids hair.
My jewelery was plain, I hardly ever wear any. My bracelet was pearls my husband gave me when we started dating (something old) and my earings I got from a shop called Lovisa at Greenacres shopping mall in Port Elizabeth. I love pearls so had let Kary M Designs in Port Elizabeth make me four pretty pearl hairpins to add the finishing touch to my hairdo. She made them the same white as my wedding dress. I also got my lace garter from her with a blue ribbon (something blue).
My make up was done by Tarryn Harding. She is the most amazing person and best makeup artist I know. My eyes were shades of brown to compliment my green eyes. My make up was quite striking as I hardly wear any (plain Jane) so I looked very different to myself than my everyday look. I loved it and feel you should look different on your wedding day. She also did the two mothers and bridesmaids make up.
I wore a white gown getting ready having the word "Bruid" at the back and also white slippers saying "Bruid". I ordered it from Wedding-Perfect Ballito in KZN. My bridesmaids wore floral robes I bought at Cotton On and I also made them slippers saying "Strooimeisie" to look pretty while getting ready and enjoying our bubbly.
We got married at Innie Bos Weddings at Assegaaibosch Country Lodge in the Eastern Cape. A real country side wedding in the middel of the most beautiful forest and mountains all around. It was a whole weekend wedding. Our guests came from all over the country to be with us on our special day. We all spend the Friday night at the lodge where we braaied and had a real family reunion. It was very special.
Getting into shape before the wedding I just ate a bit healthier and tried to gym daily. I drank lots of water and went for a nice facial two weeks before the wedding. Every night and morning I would just do my daily skin routine of eye cream, morning and night cream, toning and cleansing.

The groom got his entire attire from Woolworths. He wore a navy pants, white shirt, grey blazer and navy tie with white polka-dots on. His shoes we got from Old khaki at Baywest mall. His socks were custom made by Baybee T Designs with his name and the Superman sign on. He loves superheroes. The groomsmen also got their navy pants and white shirts from Woolworths. Their socks was custom made ass well each pair having their names and a different superhero sign on them. We got their burgandy ties from Romens at Greenacres mall in Port Elizabeth. We also gave them all a broach to wear saying "Strooijonker" that we got at Words with Wings in Port Elizabeth.
My bridesmaids wore the most beautiful floral and burgandy combination dresses from Hoidenbridesmaids in Port Elizabeth. They rocked the floral top and plain long burgandy flowy bottom.
I let them choose their own dress style because I feel I wanted them to love it ass well. At first I wanted them to have plain burgandy but when we saw how Hoiden incorporated the floralness into their dresses we all fell in love.

We had the most amazing, fun loving and sweet photographer who helped us feel comfortable and really knew how to capture the special moments. He really knows his stuff and goes out of his way to get the best photos. I would recommend Ron Harding Photography to anyone wanting to have lifes special moments captured forever.
Our videographer also did an amazing job, giving us a beautiful and very memorable highlights video of all our special moments that day. I think I watched it a 100 times over and still smile every time.
