Highlights of my day is definitely the fact that my DAD could walk me down the aisle and give me over to the man of my dreams. Getting ready for the biggest day of my life was memorable because I had faith all will fall into place like I planned. I was calm cool and collected. I was happy and smiling from the morning right through to the end of my evening. I married my life partner my bestie my oudjie my everything. Everything about our wedding was highlights and memorable because we had a party like we planned. WE HAD A JOL
Yes we did.... We got this as a wedding gift. We left the Monday after the wedding for Plettenberg Bay for the week. With me being down with the flu that week we still had fun. We explored the garden route. We got to walk with elephants. We got to see lions and walk with monkeys. We had one fun filled week.
Wedding look I went for was very traditional but elegant as I am not very lady like when coming to dressing up. If I could do jeans and sneaker i would..... OOOOOPS I did have sneakers for the party. Dresses was made by Monique Hess and can be found on Facebook. My dress was made to fit my body totally the opposite of what I initially wanted. Straight cut mermaid dress with open back and a full veil. My makeup was done very naturally as I do not wear makeup at all. My makeup artist is a genius as she knew just how to make me look good. Makeup by Nuri can also be found on facebook. Shoes was a Steve madden classic and later for the forest pics I wore converse all stars. Jewelry was just costume jewelry bought at a local store. Same for my bridesmaids. My bridesmaids and maid of honor dresses was made to be very girly. Our hair was done plain and elegant by the wonder Lucille Jacobs also a friend that can be found on Facebook or Instagram
We were very traditional and got married out of our church St Francis of Assisi in Strandfontein and from there we headed off to our venue in Hout Bay. Our wedding reception was at Suikerbossie where we partied the night away. We also took our wedding pics in the forest at suikerbossie. All our pics are action pics as that what we wanted. Some of our guests stayed over at the B&B based at suikerbossie.
Nothing whatsoever all I wanted was to be stress free
Our theme for the evening we were going for was a comedy night. our menu cards were in the format of a comedy night with the open mic support act and headliner. We had fairy lights on each table to symbolize the spot light because our guests are important to us. We also had a small flower arrangement of hydrangeas on each table. Each guest got a thank you board on their plates and for favors to our guests we gave them bucket of lindt chocs and a bottle of champers.
Groom and best man wore smart casual printed jackets that was bought at Markham. With a blue trousers and brown shoes. Groom wore a white shirt with baby blue tie and the best man wore a baby blue shirt with navy tie. The ring security suit was hired and he wore a plain navy suit.

My bridemaids were both in their early teens and I still wanted them to look like girls. So they had on flared out tutu dresses with lace tops.
My maid of honor chose her own style dress which suited the bridal party perfect.

Our photographers were perfect. They are husband and wife Natalie and Raymond Trout. This was perfect because they captured our special moments just as we asked. We wanted our photographers to feel part of our guests which they did as we did not know that they were there.

Reception was perfect . It was exactly what Carl and I planned. We wanted people to have fun which they did. We wanted people to have party and dance. Our wedding was one big happy party. Our personalities came through in our reception. No dance lesson needed as we both love dancing. Sound was done by Brandon Lewis a friend.
