We held our wedding at Blue Bay Lodge, Saldanha, in the West Coast where I grew up as a child. It was a laid back romantic affair, filled with flowers, gorgeous food and loads of laughter. What was suppose to be a Colonial Delft inspired brunch, followed by a canapé style sunset braai, quickly turned into a indoors celebration, with 24 hours to change the whole wedding due to very bad weather!!!Seeing my handsome husband to be waiting for me, made everything worth it! Our wedding turned out even more perfect than I imagined and we honestly would not have wanted to change anything about our wedding day.
Yes we did,we took a trip to Struisbaai and Mosselbaai,it was amazing! We are also planning a trip to Mauritius for the end of the year.
My look was Romantic Summer, I wore the most beautiful wedding dress from House of Silk, it was very sweet and quirky seeing that my dress had soft blue touches and crystal beading with a little bit of lace and a short veil.My shoes were to die for, it was covered in white florals and pearls, I got them from Forever New. My jewelery was understated as I didnt want it to take anything away from the dress or my ring and wedding bands, from Browns Jewelers. My second wedding dress I got from Bride and Co, and was a tight lace halterneck dress with a small tail, and I wore it with my "something old"..a stunning fluffy Burgandy jacket.My hair was loose wavey curls with white flowers (my husband loves long curly hair) and my makeup was very soft and elegant to match my hair and both my dresses.
Blue Bay Lodge in Saldanha West Coast.Most of our guests stayed at the Lodge and some made a weekend of it.
I went for 3 facials in a 2 month period, leading up to the wedding, at Rejuvi Lazer and Skin Clinic and used an incredible new skin care product called Exuviance. I used the entire range and reccomend it to anyone with sensitive skin.
Our decor for the Brunch was mainly round tables and Gost chairs.The tables were topped with beautiful stacked Delft plates, french grey plates and wooden cutlery, from Two Birds at the Dairy Shed, big flower arrangements done by B-Dazzled weddings, filled with greenery, David Austin roses, garden roses and Dhalias in Cream, Blushes, Purple, Burgandy and Pink. We had gold rimmed campaigne glasses, blue cut glass, water glasses and red wine glasses from XL Events and Event 2 Set. To round things off, our wedding favours were round glass jars, filled with Berry Compote, and personalised stickers and tags from Macaroon. We also had a lounge area created infront of the fire place which the venue did with their stunning furniture.
For our second reception we had long rectangular wooden tables, topped with massive glass and crystal candle holders with lots of candles, greenery, fairy lights and lanterns. Done by B-Dazzled weddings and myself. We did vintage sweets as favours with labbeling from Macaroon. Our canapé style braai was served on big round wooden boards from XL events

We had the absolutely talented Kusjka du Plessis from Kusjka du Plessis photography as our main photographer, together with the lovely Jude from Silver Dune photography as our second photographer. These two made the perfect team and made us feel so relaxed on the day! We had the hip and happening, Martin le Grange, from Brush wedding films as our videographer and Elri as his assistant videographer.This couple together with Kusjka and Jude are a winning team and I highly reccomend them to anyone wishing to work with stunning people doing breathtaking work.
