I was no ordinary bride, that's for sure.
My day started with me dancing in the house with his T-Shirt on :) pure excitement.
I then collected all my "self appointed and volunteered staff' to go set up the venue.
I got my hair done and with my beautifully done hair, on month end shopping madness, went into the mall to go buy nail polish for my toes and wet wipes for my baby.
A quick bite of a chip roll in the car and a nice bath, then BOOM, before I knew it it was time to hit the road to go say I DO! to the man of my dreams.
I got there before most of my guests - they were all super late, waiting in the isle for some latecomers to arrive , then joked and laughed with dad as we walked to my Mr.
We started off with a night at the amazing Beverley Hills Hotel in Umhlanga, drove through to Garden Court Ulundi where we took a game drive the next day in the Imfolozi Game Reserve and then made our way through Swaziland to Mozambique' Southern Sun Maputo, spent most of our time in Maputo and a day in Kosi Bay then a road trip back home.
Everything was amazing, a first cross border experience and just filled with love.
My hair was in loose fishtail braid to the left, tied into a "waterfall" of curls hanging over my left shoulder , with the most beautiful floral crown on.
My earnings and necklace pendant was mum's and the chain was a birthday persent from hubby just a month before the big day.
My shoes - when I opened the box the day of the wedding, ended up been two right shoes, so I just slipped on some beach thongs and acted like it was meant to be that way.
My make-up was inspired by my now late sister-in law, who taught me all about how to do my face the natural look way I wanted but with the right products.
We got married at Illovu Beach Africa Wedding and Conference Venue, with the ceremony on the beach and the reception in the wood cabin with a lovely deck overlooking the railway lines and the ocean.
My beauty regime was a whole lot of ideas that I never implemented and ended up just been 100% happy beautiful me.
The decor was inspired by a more elegant beach theme.
Navy table cloths, starfish, pink pearls, proteas (cause dad gave mum a bunch when I was born) and git(cause hubby's Mama had these in her garden where he grew up) with mirrors and candles.
The main table had a golden bird cage with proteas in, a sign that says " better together Mr & Mrs" and some candles and greenery.
The welcome sign on the beach was a surfboard that we painted ourselves to welcome our guests.
We gave each guest a pair of flip flops when they arrive - with a pallet by the box saying: slip into something a little more comfy as you make your way to our happily ever after.
Our gift table was a vintage suitcase with string indicating that cards/ money can be dropped there.

The groom and groomsmen bough linen pants (and a linen waistcoat for the groom) from S.Bhagwan & Co. so hat they can be cool, comfy and stylish for the day.
No ties were required for the groomsmen as we wanted everyone to be comfortable and as laid back as possible, the groom however, look seriously handsome in his bowtie with his waistcoat.
So the week that he proposed I was sooo excited that I bought bridesmaid dresses on Wish immediately.
I was a bit nervous about the dresses but they turned out to be exactly what I wanted and the girls loved the too.
Because we were on the beach, I just wanted them to have braids that go into a messy bun to suit the occasion - and no shoes were required.
The make up look was inspired by my now late sister in law who was due to do our make up and put her heart and soul into finding us the best looks.
The flower girls wore dresses from Ackermans.
We were married by his uncle, Pastor Lester Holland form Rhema Faith Ministries in Johannesburg - he flew down for the wedding .
The special moments were captured by his brother who borrowed someone's camera and we just had the most fun taking pictures- laughing and joking instead of serious poses.
I absolutely love planning events and do this as a hobby on the side so I jumped right in and became my very own wedding planner.
i was supposed to get done at the venue so no transported was required, this changed the day before the wedding and I happily just jumped in dad's '01 Merc and went to the venue wih my mum, dad, bridesmaid, daughter and flower girl.
The food was a delicious lamb spit, tikka chicken, veggies, salads, rolls and naan freshly prepared at the venue by outside caterers Shaik's Rattle and Roll.
For starters we just had platters assorted savoury platters for Spar.
it was the first time that I didn't hear any complaints about the food!
The cake was sponsored by a friend and made by a lady called Sandy who bakes from home - mouthwatering and absolutely perfect.
I had Jean from Sharpline who designed and printed the invites inserts- but bought the foldable invite cardboards from china mall and just wrapped some brown string around the invite, and sealed the envelope with a heart sticker.
The DJ was a young man named Chris Naicker who is starting up his own AV company- it was his first time gig and he produced exactly what I wanted.
