My Wedding day was everything I wanted and more - Everyone I love in one place celebrating LOVE. People traveled from across the world to be with us and our venue was absolutely stunning!
Highlights of the day - his face when he saw me walking towards him and his face when the music started when it was time for me to say my vows and realised that I was going to sing to him...just magic!
The whole day was so surreal (especially since I have been planning my wedding since I was 5 hehe) and I made sure to keep reminding myself to be in the moment and take it all in because it would be over before I knew it.
We went to Maldives for our honeymoon - ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! We stayed at the Full Moon Sheraton Resort and were blessed enough to be upgraded to a Water Bungalow with a private pool - Imagine waking up every day in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by tropical fish and stingrays.....just paradise!
My wedding look was a combination of rustic and vintage (but with a modern twist). We brought in rose gold, pearls, and lace but then mixed it up with some bold velvet furniture and Black jumpsuits for the bridal party.
My dress came from the incredible Elizabeth Stockenstrom, my hair and makeup were done by Candice-Leigh and the photography and videography were done by Latsky Multimedia. My wedding planner was the very talented (and patient) Karen Whitehead.
Elizabeth’s gowns are the ultimate in femininity, romance and sensuality. She has built an enviable reputation for creating exquisite bridal gowns, using only the best fabrics.
Our venue was Die Woud in Caledon - Outstanding!
Our guests stayed all over Caledon but mostly at The Caledon Hotel and Casino.
Die Woud is in perfect harmony with nature nestled between established oak trees and majestically tall wattle forests.
We had a serious lead up to the wedding - I focused alot on fitness and committed to a year of Functional fitness training leading up to the wedding. My personal trainer - Johry Batt from Bound Fitness- helped transform drastically!
I was quite disciplined with my skin and had some serious regimes in place using Clarins products.
My hair was quite fine so I ordered some hair extensions from Clip In Hair and they really were excellent!
With Die Woud you can Hire quite alot of furniture (which we did) but I wanted to add some bold colours so I hired big furniture pieces from Propstars - They had a huge range to choose from and were very very professional!
We used the lighting at Die Woud (naked bulbs) and hired the big lit letters (LOVE) as well as lots of fairy lights from our decor company (who also did the flowers) - Evertworx.
The groom and groomsmen all wore suits and were dressed by Eurosuit (Bride&Co).
We went totally out the conventional box and my Bridesmaids wore Black Jumpsuits from YDE. They looked great and felt really comfortable! (best part is that they will wear them again!)
The flower girls had dresses made from Infinity Dress SA :)
The Original Infinity Dress can be worn 27 different ways, making it the perfect bridesmaid dress for all figures!
My Marriage Officer was Rev Linda Everitt and Berry Behr was my Celebrant
We used the same company for Photography and Videography - Latsky Multimedia. They made us feel super comfortable and you could tell that they had done it many times before so they led the way all the time!
I had Karen Whitehead as my planner (of 17 Events). Karin has years of experience and you could tell. She allowed for my way of doing things and was a very good support leading up to the wedding. On the day is when you need your planner more than any other time and she really delivered. She knew exactly what I was looking for and because we got to know eachother so well she was able to make executive decisions in my absence when things creeped up (which they do - no matter how organised you are!).
We didnt arrange flashy cars to the wedding as no one would see us arrive so we used a transport company in Caledon called Dupps Transport.
One thing we did do that I'm really happy about is we arranged all transport for all guests (to and from the wedding) so that no one would be in danger of drinking and driving and guests could really have a great time! Again we used Dupps for this.
Die Woud have their own kitchen and chefs and I have to say - The food was truly excellent! We had guests commenting the whole night and well after the wedding!
The wedding cake was done by "Delana's cakes". She is a super talented and the cake was delicious!
Die Woud is in perfect harmony with nature nestled between established oak trees and majestically tall wattle forests.
We used Minutman Press for our canvases, The Little Woodpecker for our guests names and Monograms and then printed the menus and Thank you cards with Print-Tag.
All excellent - delivered in time and flawlessly!
Music was a big deal for us as it can make or break a function. We decided to use "Music To The Max", who we met at a Wedding Expo. Brendan was excellent and his equipment was great quality! They were professional and on time and they even had a white set of speakers to help blend with our look. They have their own lights, which were great! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!
