We were very privileged to go on two honeymoons. The first one was right after the wedding at the La Victoria Resort in Mauritius. The both of us love the ocean life and swimming. This was an ideal place for that. We explored the island with a lot of swimming by way of diving, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins and sea turtles. Our honeymoon part two was at the You&Me Resort in Maldives about two months after our wedding date. This was something I never thought I would experience; the water is truly that beautiful, light blue ocean surrounded by the dark waters of the deep sea. We had a water villa, in the mornings we would wake up have our morning coffee and jump into the ocean for a quick swim before breakfast. The rest of the day we would do swimming around the island. The most memorable experience there was dinning in their underwater restaurant. The food was out of this world and watching the sea life swim by was the cherry on top of it all.
My wedding look was based on the Disney fairy tale princesses. I wanted to look and feel like a fairy tale princess. We purchased my dress from Vonve Bridal Couture in Melrose. An elegant ballroom style dress, wide with soft layers of different materials. Tear drop diamond earrings short and not to much. Fine lace printed flowers in the bodice with glass beading all around the bottom of the dress and lace flowers on the top part of the netting. I had white satin wedges from Bride&Co with beaded pearls as a decorative finish. My hair was done by my hairdresser that I have been going to since the beginning of time. I decided on soft curls with a small tiara to give it that princess look. The makeup was natural nothing extravagant.
We got married at Cradle Valley Guesthouse, Wedding, Conference & Function Venue in Muldersdrift. They not only have a chapel and reception hall but also provide accommodation when catering for your wedding. Yes, some of our guests stayed over for the night at the venue.

We started early with my bridal beauty regime. Me and my mom went for monthly peels and facials along with 3 micro needling sessions, healthy eating and spin classes.
A day just before the wedding we treated ourselves to a much deserved pamper day at Woodlands Spa.
My Husband (The Groom) wore a Persian blue tailored suit and tie made in Bangkok, Thailand. His other accessories included a tawny brown belt and shoes from Woolworths with classic silver cuff lings and tie clip from the Oriental Plaza. A white orchid was worn on his lapel created by Buttercup Designs. The Groomsman attire was a semi-formal look. They wore Persian blue chinos from Woolworths, bow ties and suspenders from China Mall. Each of them had a name tag that was designed by Manifique laser cutting with the words "Strooijonker", "Hoof Strooijonker", "Hof knapie" and "Ringdraer" on made from wood. Their red, blue and white socks was also bought from China Mall.
My bridesmaids wore mint green dresses made by Michelle Herbs. The dresses were long over the one shoulder, the bodice had small pearls on the netting and the bottom part was made with chiffon to give the dress a flowwy soft rounding. Their hair was a lose bun with baby's breath flowers. Other accessories included diamante earrings with a silver arm bracelet matching their silver diamante open toe shoes. The bouquets were a small bunch of white roses tied together with the same color ribbon as their dresses. I decided on the look by putting together ideas on Pintrest and creating my own style.
Our marriage officer was Pastor Andre Brits. He was recommended to us by our wedding venue Cradle Valley Guesthouse, Wedding, Conference & Function Venue in Muldersdrift.
JcClick was both our photographer and videographer. They really captured the special moments of our day in full. The quality of their work is impeccable. We couldn't have chosen better people to make our day more memorable.
The photo booth was done by RP Media Photography and Films. The guests love this. They designed a logo for us that was printed on each strip of three photos. There was different backgrounds to chose from and this kept the guests busy while we were taking our photos.
No, I planned my own wedding with my mother. We went to every wedding expo, visited most of the wedding venues, tried on about 200 wedding dresses in the Gauteng region.
We didn't need any transport to the venue nor did we need transport to the reception hall. That's what made our venue even more pleasant everything from the bridal room, grooms room, chapel, reception and accommodation was at the venue, Cradle Valley Guesthouse, Wedding, Conference & Function Venue in Muldersdrift, which made it even more convenient.
Our venue, Cradle Valley Guesthouse, Wedding, Conference & Function Venue in Muldersdrift, prepared all the food for our wedding. We had a plated menu and our guests had a selection of three starters and three mains to chose from. However, desert was a candy buffet with a soft serve ice cream machine with a variety of candy to decorate your ice cream.
Our wedding cake was made by an aunt of mine, she is a very creative baker. We had a two tiered naked cake with draped orchids down the one side. The flavor of the top part was white Belgium chocolate and the bottom part was a cream cheese dairy chocolate. The cake topper was a circle of leaves with "Mnr & Mev" and our wedding date, designed by Manifique laser cutting.
My cousin that works in graphic designing created a logo for us to use on all of our stationery.
The rest of our stationery was a selection of pintrest ideas that was put together in a unique design and printed by Tusk Signs in Kempton Park.
Our music for the reception was done by Rudy, he is a spectacular DJ and live performer with an amazing voice. He provided the lighting, microphone as well as a smoke machine for our first dance. Our music style was 80's and 90's with a little bit the modern music. We danced all through the night young and old, everybody had at turn on the dance floor.
