Our special celebration was a day truly filled with love, not only for each other but for everyone that shared in our beautiful day, there was not a dry eye in the house. The most touching was hearing the tributes and speeches from our friends, my Dad and my Hubby (Amien). The walk down the isle was like a fashion show, because all of the bridesmaids dresses were unique, nobody knew what to expect next. Then there was the moment that my Dad walked me down the isle, it's a moment that every little girl dreams of and I was so blessed to be able to have him share that moment with me. When we said our vows, was one of the most beautiful moments of our lives. The rest of the day was filled with so much warmth and love being surrounded only by loved ones that had a direct impact on our lives as a couple. It was the perfect way to begin this new chapter in our lives.
We haven't had a chance to do our dream honeymoon as yet, our entire wedding was planned in less than 2 weeks, but after the wedding we spent a week of tranquility lost in the Limpopo bushveld.
The look that I went for was sexy and glamorous in my beautiful gown designed by David Tlale. Hair was in a vintage low bun accented with fresh orchids by Saadique Ryklief. Makeup was a fresh dewy, youthful look by Faith Seuoe. Jewellery was kept to a minimum, I wore small rose gold tassle earings that was my something borrowed. I opted for a neutral clear and white heel from Zara that would not get hooked on my dress or detract from the look.
Our special day was celebrated at Garden World Muldersdrift, which was very close to home, located conveniently for all of our guests
To be honest I didn't have any time to do anything different or out of the ordinary.
Our colours were shades of blush pink, rose gold and grey. Flowers were white roses with a hint of blush pink with candles. Centerpieces and bridal party bouquets were supplied by Suzanne. The bridal bouquet of cascading white orchids by Franz Gräbe.
My handsome Hubby wore a grey suit, white shirt and blush waistcoat... The groomsmen wore black suits with white shirts. They all wore matching wooden black and grey bowties and blush pocket squares.
I had the most exquisite bridal party, all dresses designed by David Tlale. Each dress was unique in a blush pink/rose gold pallet. Felt like a runway show.
Rev Craig Morrison was our marriage officer. He did the most amazing job. We had a bi-faith ceremony, he was able to tailor make our special day to include everyone.
Our special moments were captured by the talented John Liebenberg.
Our planner was an absolute Godsend. Magriet from Garden World was able to capture every detail that we had in mind and execute it perfectly in the impossible time frame that we gave them. We would not have changed a thing.
Our delicious menu was supplied by Garden World who were able to do halaal catering for all of our guests and also accomodate for our vegetarian guests who were very surprised to know that they were specifically catered for and didn't have to eat side salads and veg only. We didn't have time to do a food tasting and relied on the recommendation of Magriet.
Our 7 tier cake was designed by Jozi Cakery, we opted for simple and elegant.
We didn't have much time for stationary, I designed the e-invite myself with the help of paperless post and the save the date was a personal phone call to all of our guests. The rest of the stationary, ie: menus, seating chart, place settings etc were designed by Hubby and I and printed by YC Print shop.
The entire reception was organised by Magriet at Garden World, we went for a minimal draping and fairy lights creating a romantic setting with ample candle light. We had a DJ, who didn't quite have the music genre that was required and was unable to play the music sent to him. That didn't put a damper on the day. One of our friends went to get his laptop from the car and replaced the dj for the evening. He had everyone on the dance floor for the entire night.
