Our wedding day was MAGICAL! I was marrying the man of my dreams.
There was so much love and happiness in this one day it is actually difficult to describe.
We had so many memorable moments on the day.
From the start to the finish...
In the ceremony we had all our close family(parents, brothers, their wives, kids) and bridesmaids all walk down the aisle ahead of my dad and I. It was so special and brought a tear to everyone's eye.
During the pre-drinks we created a bit of a driving range at the wedding and the guests could take part in a longest drive competition if they wanted too, we even had prizes. We all had such fun.
The speeches brought a tear to everyone's eye, they were all from the heart.
The photos were taken in a beautiful rose garden and on top of a hill in the long grass. It was very romantic.
The food was a serious highlight,it was done by Dee's catering in Plettenberg Bay, it was superb.
Jeremy and my first dance was such fun,we went for dance lessons beforehand. We had a classic dance that went over into a more hip hop type of modern dance. Our guests loved the surprise and we loved doing it.
From 22:30 we had fires outside and lots of fairy lights in the trees everywhere. There were marshmallows and biscuits so everyone could make smores and sit and chat by the fires. It was a beautiful atmosphere.
We had huge marquee lights spelling out our surname(The Osbornes) on the pond close by. Everyone loved it. As you walked out the venue, it was all that you saw.
We had a sparkler farewell at 12pm, where everyone formed a tunnel with sparklers for us and we danced through them.
At 12:30 everyone started leaving for the after party where we partied in the little town of Plett till 3am. It was such fun.
We absolutely loved our wedding day it was filled with highlights!!!
We went to Vietnam on honeymoon.
It was AMAZING!
Jeremy, my husband, organised the whole honeymoon as a surprise and I only found out where we were going once we got to the airport.
It wasn't the typical chill by the pool honeymoon, but a jam packed adventurous honeymoon. We had such fun and bonded on a whole new level.
I wanted to go for a classic yet modern look. Something natural with a bit flare.
My hair and makeup was done by Wilna Allpass from George. She really is the best and is such a lovely person to work with. I described what I wanted and she pulled the look off 100%.My hair was loose curls with a small flower clip in it to keep my hair from falling into my face all day. My makeup was a softer type of smokey eye, around my eyes, and I made my makeup pop with a bright pink lipstick.
My wedding dress I got from the Wedding Boutique in Woodstock, Cape Town and the designer was Vagabond Bridal. I wanted something a little out of the ordinary and her designs, are something quite different. When I tried on the halter neck gown with all the detailed bead work all over the dress, I fell in love with it.
I wore a pair of closed white flat shoes from Aldo for comfort reasons .They were modern enough to work with my dress.
My Jewelry I bought from a little bridal boutique in Durbanville, Cape Town, called Lily Blue. Classic crystal droopy earrings and a fine crystal bracelet to match.
The lingerie I wore was from Woolworths. They were white and showed no pantie line when I wore it with my dress.
I felt like a diva for a day.
I am a qualified makeup artist based in George, Western Cape and I also do wedding hair styling for brides. I do location work in the the Garden Route area (Knysna, George...
Our studios based in Cape Town and Johannesburg are fresh, vibrant and above all modern.
We got married in beautiful,Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, our favourite and my home town.
Our venue was called ,the Bosky Dell Rose Pavilion.
It is a stunning venue situated about 5km outside of Plettenberg Bay driving towards Knysna. There is accommodation directly above the venue called Fynbos Ridge which is absolutely stunning, but most of our guests stayed in accommodation in Plett itself as we had our wedding after party in Plett and organised a shuttle service for it so we didn't have to worry about people drinking and driving.
I am generally quite a active person.
I enjoy running, hiking and going to cross fit.
Leading up to the wedding +-3months before, I did start going to cross fit a little more than usual and Jeremy and I would motivate each other to go. We also ate less sweet things and tried to eat a little healthier.
I have a scar on my forehead from running into a brick wall when I was 7 years old, so I decided to go for two Dermapen treatments on the area around my scar to help make it less visible, and it really worked well. I would highly recommend it. I generally use Environ products to keep my skin clear and healthy.
My dad is a dentist and he gave me a whitening gel to use on a few occasions, to whiten up my teeth a bit. It is a lot better to use on your teeth than a full on whitening treatment.
Our decor was very classic. A lot of aspects of white and crystal were used, with a touch of grey and black.
The lady that owns the venue(Rae) can end up being your wedding planner and co-coordinator if you want her to be and if you take a certain wedding venue package with her. So most of the time I would come up with ideas and she would source the decor items for me, sticking to a budget obviously. With living in Cape Town and having the wedding in Plett it really did make things easier.
A friend(Elize) of my moms did the flowers for us as a wedding gift. We also sourced the flowers through another family contact in George. Thanx to this, the flowers didn't end up consuming our whole budget. We used a lot of white lily's, white roses and greenery.
The part of the decor that Jeremy and I loved was our Marquee lights that spelt out our surname- THE OSBORNES-on the pond outside. The reflection in the water was quite something
Jeremy(groom) looked so handsome on our wedding day.
He wore a classic black tux that he had made at the Tux Tailors, in the Blue Route Mall, in Tokai, Cape Town.
He wore a white shirt with black buttons(we bought a white shirt and sewed the black buttons on ourselves). The shirt was bought from Edgars. He also wore a bit of a more alternative type of black bow tie that he bought online from My Bro Tie. I had a pair of personalized silver cuff-lings made up for him as a wedding gift, through a jeweler called Brian Myburgh based on Cape Town. They read 'You are my person Love Anné "
The groomsman were all asked to wear a classic black suit and socks. We bought them long black ties from Woolworths and plain silver tie clips from Edgars.
My bridesmaids looked stunning.
I wanted a very soft classic look for them and liked the idea of bringing a bit of pink into the wedding day.
They wore a very soft, pink flowly type of dress with some bead work on it to match my wedding dress. It was bought from Forever New in Canal Walk, Cape Town.
I got them some rose gold dangling ball earrings, to finish off the dress. They were bought on Zando a online store.
Our Priest, Anton Van Stormbroek(who is based in Plett) did our sermon for us and also acted as our marriage officer. Our sermon on the day touched both Jeremy and I.
We used a local Garden Route Photographer from George ,Michelle Photography, to capture the moments of our special day.
She did a fantastic job and it was lovely working with her and her husband ,Jaco. He did the videography. We love both of their styles. A very natural, light ,soft type of style.
The owner of the venue ,Rae Gilbert, did our wedding planning to an extent and co-coordinating on the day.
It made the process leading up to the wedding far less stressful.
We made use of family friends cars, to bring the wedding party and family to and from the venue.
We did organize a shuttle service for the guests to and from Plett, to stop drinking and driving from happening on the day. It worked very well. We used Jansens transport services based in Plett. They were very efficient.
The food was really a WOW factor at the wedding. It was sooo delicious. Dee's catering based in Plett did the food for us and I would highly recommend her.
The cake was done by a lady based in Plett, called Lisa Jerling. Lovely and moist.
A friend of mine, Stephanie Baird, designed and printed our wedding stationary as a wedding gift.
She was fantastic and we managed to bring in the touch of black, with the wedding stationary.
We had such a party
A local Plett DJ, Ian,did our music for us and he was great. He really kept the vibe going and I would highly recommend him.
We did private dance lessons in Cape Town with a lady called Seugnet Ballet. She is based in Kloof Street, Cape Town.
We did a bit of an alternative dance.
We started off with a very classic Frank Sinatra song(L.O.V.E) and then it flowed into Mango Groove(Special Star) which flowed into Duck Sauce(Its you) and finished off with Galantis(Peanut butter Jelly). It was a proper modern wedding dance. We loved doing the dance and our guests were very caught off guard as it was a surprise, but loved it. We had such fun.
