Having a destination wedding made almost every second of the day memorable. Starting off with a private yoga session in the morning with all the ladies, to all the girls getting ready together at the one house.
The reveal to my dad and stepdad and the look on their faces.
Seeing my husband for the first time that day waiting for me and the look on his face when he first saw me.
Our couple shoot on the beach with a few minutes of rain and our baby ( cocker spaniel) joining us.
The whole day was just magical.
We have been in st Francis bay with our family that travelled here for the wedding day and we are planning our honeymoon for June/July 2020.
My sister in law / make up artist / hairdresser/bridesmaids described the look I went for and always dreamt of and something that perfectly defined me as the perfect combination of Jasmine from Aladdin and Belle from beauty and the beast.
We got married in st Francis bay at a Greek restaurant ( The big time taverna)on the canals.
I had a number of nimue face peels starting about 6 months before the wedding, with about 4 weeks in between each. A month before the wedding day we just did radiance facials something a bit lighter on the skin.
MovementX gym has and will always be a huge part of my life and routine not only making me feel good but keeping my mental state good too.
I made most of the decor myself.
I went for a very rustic theme , menu stands were copper pipes on a wooden base the table seating cards were pegged onto large dream catchers, our cake was different cheese wheels decorated with figs, berries and olive leafs.
There wasn’t much as we also wanted to keep the taverna look and style of the restaurant so we didn’t have table cloths or chair coverings.
I had a wooden triangular arch made which was placed on the Perspex walkway on the swimming pool where we got married.
The boys wore blue suits, groom had a jacket and the rest only had pants and a shirt. The pants were ankle length and they all wore brown shoes which we got from Zara. All keeping to the rustic and relaxed theme of the wedding.
The bridesmaids wore very simple dresses which I had made by Bianca warren and the maid of honor was in the same material and colour the only different was that hers was a two piece.
Our marriage officer was Advocate Francois Roets.
We had infocus photography and Wynand Kruger videographer capture this magical day for us.
They were incredible and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.
I co-ordinated and planned the entire thing myself.
The food was all prepared by the restaurant ( The Big Time taverna ) and the cake ( cheese wheels) we got in Johannesburg and transported them down ourselves. One of my bridesmaids decorated the cake.
I designed all the stationery myself and I had a company called wedding worx from Johannesburg print and help me with this. They were absolutely incredible!!!
We didn’t go for any dance lessons as my husband isn’t the type ;) we just did what was natural on the day on the moment.
I made a spreadsheet of all music at what time at what stage for the entire day and this was sent to our Dj who was recommended by the owner of the restaurant. Duncan crisp the Dj was perfect in absolutely every way and the dance floor was full from start to end which is what every bride wants :)
