On a farm, under the setting sun in the heart of nature is where it all started.
Having always known of one another, we were formally introduced at a friends fundraising braai one chilly Spring evening.
In good company and with great friends and loved ones was where our spark ignited.
We enjoyed our first date strolling through the farmland, admiring scenic views and relishing in the easy-going nature of one another's company.
The farm is a very special place to us, combining our love for nature and the outdoors. To us, it represents so much - our roots in the special little town of Port Alfred, our morals, beliefs and the start of our forever.
On my own mission as usual, I headed for the crystal clear waters of Mauritius to complete my internship. In touch in every means possible, myself and my best friend chatted, skyped and eventually started planning his first trip to Namibia. Fast forward a few steps, we enjoyed a wonderful holiday in my stomping ground and had the best time getting to truly know one another.
En-route back home to the land of milk and honey, we stopped off at the Knysna Heads for a bite to eat. Surrounded by endless views Brad asked "Nicci, will you be my girlfriend?". As you can imagine, the rest is history!
The 16th of September 2018 is a day we will never forget.
Aboard an afternoon boat cruise on the Linyanti River, surrounded by the most beautiful wildlife and under the rays of yet another setting sun is where our happily ever after began.
Admiring the bird life, lechwe, buffalo and some elephants frolicking in the river ahead, we climbed to the upper deck level of the boat to appreciate the full extent of our surroundings. Encapsulating every inch of nature's wonder we meandered our way to the front of the boat and perched ourselves alongside the water's edge.
I turned to film the sinking sun over the gorgeous Linyanti and when interrupted by movement alongside me, turned back to find Brad on one knee and asking "Nicci, will you marry me?".
I couldn't have been more sure in my answer, "YES!!!"
