Surrounded by our best friends and loved family members, on the most magical day in DECEMBER 2019.
The 14th, We got hitched . It truly was the best day of our lives.
From the moment I ran down the red carpet, till we said our goodbyes. It was such an amazing day! Not a cloud in sight, after it had been raining for weeks.
The most memorable moment was when I first laid eyes on my husband. The pride and true happiness in his eyes. We both had tears of joy streaming down our cheeks.
From the very first moment I started planning my wedding, I never wanted a white dress, nor did I want a black dress. I went to a few bridal shops, fitting one white dress after the other. I went to some of the top local designers in the business, even with their French lace and pearl buttons, not one out of the many dresses I fitted had an impact on me.
I wanted a unique dress, something memorable and a bit antique.
So I took a few weeks to reflect, and make up my mind. Then I decided on the color Dove, or soft grey, almost silver, but not completely silver.
With this idea, of a grey wedding dress, I went back to the drawing board. I then went back to all of the designer's I went to before, but this time with my own concept and ideas. After more disappointment, I went to a place I haven't visited before:
Tasjha's Design, in Klerksdorp.
Finally I found who I was looking for, someone who thinks outside the box. Form the fist consultation, I knew this is the one. She understood what I wanted.
The results were so much more than I dreamed about : A soft wispy, high neck, two toned grey dress. With silver detailing flowers and a crystal belt. A hidden slit and a soft flowing train. A undertone of Shell and champagne, accompanied by a full lace A-line design covered in a soft dove grey tulle. I wore black glitter heals, and a navy blue and white garter, with white lingerie. My make up was done by one of the best upcoming MUA'S : Jolize Cawood. She was very happy to do a darker look for a change. My hair was half up and half down with wavy curls and a flower comb, specially hade made for me, by Appelliefies in Klerksdorp. My nails were done in a French fade, with a soft gray and white. I wore a personalized bracelet, hand made by Certain things and more, all the way from Cape Town. I had my late grandmothers brooch pin incorporated into my wedding bouquet. She passed a few years ago, and I wanted her close to my heart.
A Lovely small, intimate Restaurant located in the heart of Klerksdorp. Rosemary's Restaurant and Venue. What a wonderful wedding venue, so homey and beautifully decorated, wooden floors, amazing ambiance. They have a small chapel located at the back of the restaurant. Witch we used for the ceremony.
Our color scheme for the wedding was, navy blues, dark reds and maroons, and grey, and a bunch of greenery. We made hoops covered in ivy leaves, had eucalyptus leaves everywhere, wooden disks with wine red candles on. I hired dark blue champagne glasses, and lovely floral napkins. We draped the the tables in navy blue and maroon tulle.
The table flowers and bouquets were made by the formidable Adante Mynhardt from Dante's Events in Klerksdorp.
The Friday before the wedding, when we collected the bouquets and table flowers, things finally felt real.
"IM GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW" was the only thought in my mind.
Raymond Dye from Wild Olive Ministries.
We chose Pieter Pieters as our wedding photographer. He's been in the business since 2008. With more than 100 magazine adverts and thousands of online awards. He outdid himself once again with our wedding. Capturing all our vibrant and intimate wedding moments. He also recorded the whole ceremony for us.
Myself along with my bridesmaids, mother, and stepmother and big sister we planned and arranged everything. From the decorations to the table placements. We did all the decorations ourselves, in the chapel as well as the reception area in the restaurant.
We had a vintage Chevrolet, in beige.
The restaurant prepared out food and the delicious dessert table.
We had an amazing tappas table for starters, from smoked salmon rosti's too delightful spanakopita's and followed by a mouth watering buffet mains. Pork belly, honey mustard chicken and succulent fillet, accompanied by fresh vegetables and seasonal salads. The dessert table had me though, decadent pecanut pies, lemon meringues, chocolate cakes, the original malva puddings. It was a dream comes true.
The wedding cake was made by Stephanie Sindin, she outdid herself with out 3 tier cake! The top layer was Vanilla, the middle layer was Chocolate, and the bottom layer was Red Velvet. Finished off with a naked look Danish icing, and decorated with beautiful flowers.
