Everything was just perfect . Rain forecast changed and held out till 22h00. Sunshine brushed through the forest trees of the ceremony , but my favorite moment was when I turned to my groom , looked him in his rich brown eyes and shared my deepest vows to him while helpless tears of joy and love rolled down my cheeks. There’s was no better feeling than that moment of outspoken love.
We had a late flight the next day, so we enjoyed a movie on the Sunday(Action movie of course-Jumanji 2) , a late dinner at the airport and took off to Blouberg Cape Town for our honeymoon.
I found the most gorgeous , whimsical , Cinderella dress at this amazing and friendly boutique in Benoni called “Amber Rain.” They were the best guide in helping me with my dress, continually commenting on the perfection of the dress suited to me and making sure I knew exactly what worked and what didn’t work. The top half of the dress was styled with hundreds of hand stiched sparkles over a thin material drawing into soft belt that wrapped around my waist to the back where the dress joined together by small round buttons leaving my back open. The dress trailed along behind me , flowing in the direction I chose to walk. My veil was plain and simple and extended beyond the end of dress trail giving the style a lingering look of “whimsical”.
Thee most gorgeous garter was paired to my dress my Susan, owner of Amber rain. The garter was lacy, off white, beautiful, soft and had a warm gentle look to it.
Hair and makeup was complete perfection. Corler, from “Ruth hair and makeup” arrived bright and early at 09h00 along with my bridesmaids to make sure she finished in time. We did loose curls all around on my hair and paired it with a penny gum and gip flower crown. My eyes were brushed with shades of brown and a dash of purple to bring some colour and attention to my eyes. We finished my eyes off with some fake eyelashes, not those crummy one piece stick ons, Corler used individual lashes that she took rime to glue on in the perfect shape suited to me.
Jewelry was not necessarily given the sparkle that the dress brought, so all I did was put on a small pair of teardrop style silver earrings.
Shoes were a struggle , but I found a gorgeous pair of freestyle leather shoes from a small place in Uncle Tim’s cabin called “ Khalli Khaki “ . A tan slipper with a blue/grey finish on the heel and toe pulled my dress together so perfectly!
We got married at farm and forest style venue in Pretoria . The ceremony took place between the tall trees and the reception was in a big farm style ‘stoor’ with big blue doors, bare brick Walls and a tin roof.
De La Mas is the name and they can definitely play by the brides perfect wedding day !
I had just finished my final year exams for my degree so eating healthy was not in regime. Things were so stressful leading up to finding out if I was accepted to honours or not so I ate what I wanted whenever I wanted. I’m not much of a fitness person so I didn’t do much , I think the running around for wedding stuff and DIY projects kept me pretty busy. The last week before the wedding let me a bit to a loss of appetite, I really didn’t eat much, so I kind of lost all that weight I ate leading up to exams . Everything kind of worked itself out if I must say. I went for hair cut and colour at “Chelsea Rose hair and beauty” on the Wednesday, had my nails done on the Friday at “Nails by Zoë” and got spoiled by a friend with the best thing ever that Friday night, a big bath tub all to myself, a galaxy bath bomb, and all the time I wanted in the world .
We had the best photographer we would’ve ever found. Louwrens is a fun and adventurous person. He is creative and open to suggestions. He is exciting to work with and he constantly comments on moments when he finds the perfect light and shot leaving you as the Bride and groom encouraged and excited to how things turn out. Louwrens definitely knows what he ia doing.
