Everything of that day was memorable, from start till end. There was no problems at all, everything went just as planned and that's great news for the bridal couple. The most incredible moment of the day for me as bride was when I entered the chapel and saw my husband's face. The tears were running down his face as I walked down the isle. From there on everything was just amazing, from the first dance to the father daughter dance (yes, I was still lucky enough to dance with my father that night). And all of these magical moments was captured by the most incredible photographers named One Beat Photography. The photos came out incredible beautiful. Unfortunately, as everyone told us, the day went pass way to quickly. But every little detail of that day was just perfect. Our day, the HIGHLIGHT of our lives!
We had more like a "family-moon" because our parents and other family members went with us to Mozambique. It was the same place where we got engaged. Even though we didn't really have a honeymoon it was still very memorable. We only went for a short while as I only started a new job and couldn't get more time off at work.
I am just the typical "flower-lover" girl. So, everything had flowers, yet, it was still elegant and beautiful. My make-up was a more natural look, as I am not one for to much make-up, and I wanted my husband to see the real me and not just some girl with a mask on her face. My hair was all curly with a few flowers here and there. My wonderful make-up artist, Chantelle from Stay MUA, did a fantastic job just as I expected. She didn't just do a great job, but was so much fun working with. My dress was just a plain dress in the beginning, but then to just add a little bit of myself, my designer added some flowers to it and it came out perfect! My dress was designed by Mystique's Bridal Services from Rustenburg. The most special thing of my look was my something old. Just a few months before our wedding my grandmother passed away. Just before her passing she gave me a pair of white ballet shoes. Luckily, my mother is very creative. She transformed these white ballet shoes into my wedding shoes with just a bit of lace and pearls and it came out perfect. So, even though my grandma wasn't there to share the day with us, a part of her was still with me. The venue, Tholo Thabanyana, was responsible for the décor and everything else. There isn't a place on earth where I ever felt more close to nature than at this place. The moment I laid eyes on it, I was in love. From the chapel to the ceremony to the food, everything was just incredible. Our wonderful day was captured by the incredible One Beat Photography. During the whole day they made us feel comfortable, relaxed and even when the zip of my dress snapped, the photographer lend a hand to help fix it. As you can see from our photos, they are just the best!
We got married at the most amazing game farm, Tholo Thabanyana, just outside a little town called Swartruggens, 70km from Rustenburg. I can't even remember how we came upon this amazing place, but here I fell in love with mother nature! The farm has 2 chapels you can choose from, accommodation for 40 guests including the bride and groom, a river flowing through the farm, big mountains, and the most incredible forest look. Exactly what we were looking for.
I didn't go on a heavy diet or gym plan before our wedding. I did some Body20 just to stay in shape but I wanted to be who I am not just for that day but for everyday. My work, Cilliers & Reynders Attorneys, spoiled me to an amazing day at the Pondok day spa. Some foot rubbing and back massage just to get me relaxed before the big day. I got my nails done and my hair colored by local salons in the area.
Our theme for the wedding was sunflowers. Our colors were green and yellow with a bit of gold. Me and my mom made some décor, the rest were up to the Tholo Thabanyana team. And may I say, they did an incredible job. Most of the furniture were wood. The lightning was just enough to create this romantic feeling.
It was a very casual wedding. So, the grooms men only wore Chino pants with a long shirt and spandex. The groom also wore Chino pants with a long shirt and a jacket with a small bowtie. They had "Vellies" on as shoes.
My brides maids wore green and yellow infinity dresses. I gave them the freedom to wear them as they liked. This also made them looked different, which is exactly what I wanted. They were also allowed to choose there own make-up and hair which was done by the greatest Chantelle from Stay MUA.
We were privileged enough to have family that could marry us. My cousin, Zeldre Diesel, did the honor of marrying us. She is the closed thing I ever had to a sister, so it was very special for me having her there doing this for us. She was also one of the people who new my husband before I ever met him.
Unfortunately, we were first scammed by so-called photographers.
But then we came upon the incredible team of One Beat Photography. It's a husband and wife working together to capture the day in the most beautiful way only they can. The quality of there photos are just incredible as you can see in our gallery. We would recommend them to anyone any day. And the best part of having them is that they give you unlimited hours. Even when most of the event is over they are still there to capture those unseen moments.
Our venue included a coordinator. She helped us plan the day and made suggestions where we were unsure about certain things. A big shout out to Geraldine Swanepoel and her team at Tholo Thabanyana for making our special day even more special!
We didn't need any transport as everything was held at the venue.
Our food was prepared by the venue self and it was incredible (even though me and my husband didn't really have time for eating).
The stationary was supplied by the venue self.
Our venue included a live DJ and music for every step of the way. I've been at many weddings before and the music were a disaster, especially where certain songs were to be played at certain times. But our DJ was just incredible. All the right songs played on time. Everything was just on point.
