The entire day was a highlight and every moment memorable!
I can honesty say it was the best day of my life.
Everything was perfect and looking back there is nothing I would have wanted differently.
I spent the night before the wedding on the venue with my four bridesmaids, we had girls night with face masks and pampering! It was wonderful spending time with them. We went to bed early, making sure everyone had enough sleep and energy for the big day ahead of us. It was so relaxing, waking up with my girls there with me just knowing that today is the day I had been dreaming of for months. We spent the day in the bridal suite getting our hair and make-up done.
Having my mom, my sister and my new mom-to-be there with my was very special. My mom helped get into my wedding dress and this was an extremely special moment for me and I was so excited to finally wear my dream dress!!
Walking down the aisle was one of the most special moments ever, not only because I was walking with my dad and towards my husband but because I was surrounded by all of our most loved family and friends, with the most beautiful surroundings to make a promise of a lifetime. It was the happiest moment in my entire life and I was later told by one of the guests that as I came walking down the aisle the sun was in a perfect position where it was shining beautifully through my veil. My girls walked in on A Thousand Years by Christina Perry after which the wedding coordinator rung the bell for the arrival of the bride. My dad and I walked in on I get to love you by Ruelle as this song just said exactly what I would have wanted to say to my husband in this very moment.
The first time my husband and I locked eyes was very emotional and we were both fighting to hold back the tears. It was a moment we had been waiting for for a very long time. My dad gave me a kiss on my forehead and gave me away to Brandon. After we said our vows and exchanged rings we shared our first kiss as Mr & Mrs Wright!!!
Our guests enjoyed live music and canapés while we went off to take pictures with our bridal party. We had so much fun!! We couldn't have chosen better photographers and videographers, everyone was so comfortable!
Our couples shoot was very intimate, our first moment as husband and wife, just us (and obviously the photographers). While we did our couples shoot we tried to just take in the moment and look back at our guests knowing everyone came from near and far to celebrate this union with us. This time for me was very special and my heart was content.
We joined our guests in the reception shortly after the sun set where we finally had a bite to eat and enjoyed the most magnificent meal!!! Our MC was fantastic at keeping everyone entertained throughout the speeches and a memory we will always carry with us is those that had special words to share with us.
Our first dance was magical, even though I forgot a few of the steps because I couldn't stop staring at my handsome husband, it felt like we were dancing on the clouds! The father daughter dance was incredibly special and touched many hearts around us. As the dance floor opened we were joined by family and friends to celebrate and enjoy the rest of the evening. It was everything my husband and I could have dreamed of, it was our perfect fairytale wedding that we will remember forever!!
Before my wedding day a number of people told me to just enjoy the day, no matter what goes wrong or what happens, just enjoy the day and take in every moment because the day goes so fast. Now, I can agree with that! The day goes so quickly and every now and then I just had to pause and look around and remind myself of what was happening around me and to absolutely live in the moment and enjoy it to the fullest.
Yes we did go on honeymoon. It wasn't a surprise as we planned it together. We both knew we wanted to go to a place to just relax and enjoy each others company and I've always dreamed of going to the Maldives. We went to Pearl Sands and Meeru Island Resort & Spa. It was absolutely magical, we stayed in a water villa over the waters and the view was breath taking. Maldives is picture perfect and I think it should be a place on everyones bucket list!! We had the most amazing time and we are so thankful to one of my husband's groomsmen who made this trip possible for us. It was the perfect place for us to just relax and spend some quality time as a newly married couple.
My wedding look I was going for was elegant and romantic. I wanted something timeless.
When I was going for dress fittings and I put on my dress, I just knew it was the one! A princess look for the ceremony with the most beautiful two-layer tulle overskirt designed by Anna Georgina with lace detail. My reception dress was a fitted classic design by Robyn Roberts Bridal that was extremely comfortable and so breathtakingly beautiful at the same time!! The dress had a low cut back with lace scalloping, thin straps and a beautiful sweetheart neckline. My entire wedding dress was from Calegra Bridal House and they made my dress-dream come true!! I was extremely comfortable in my dress and this for me was very important.
I bought my shoes from Steve Madden because they were extremely comfortable and suited the colors of my wedding perfectly. They were a block heel in blush pink with diamanté detail over the forefoot and ankle strap.
Yolandi Mans from Angelic Allure did my hair and make-up as well as my bridesmaids. My hair was in an elegant low up style with soft curls at the sides of my face. I found a stunning teardrop hair piece with matching, simple teardrop earrings at Lovisa to complete the look. My bracelet was a ‘something borrowed’ from a friend of mine who got married the year before. My make-up was natural with mostly neutral and bronze colours. Yolandi is amazing, she is so passionate in what she does and it shows in the wonderful work she produces.

We got married at the most beautiful, Oxbow Country Estate.
We spent a lot of time venue hunting around Gauteng as we wanted something different and timeless. As Brandon and I were walking around at Oxbow we stopped on the beautiful bridge and stood looking out on the venue. At that exact moment we looked at each other and said this is OUR venue!!!

The amazing scenery of the venue is definitely what caught our eye. After our tasting evening in August 2019 we knew we had chosen the right venue when they blew up away with their delicious food menus!!! Our wedding co-ordinator was with us from day one, helping and organizing with us, it was incredible.
My bridesmaids and I spent the evening before the wedding on the venue, walking around the venue in awe of how green and breathtaking it looked after a couple of rain showers in the weeks before. The morning of the wedding was so peaceful and relaxed and although the weather forecast was thunderstorms the light at the time of the photos was picture perfect!!!!! Our guests enjoyed lawn games and live music from 'n Pel van my during canapés. Everyone was mesmerized by the incredible scenery, the unlimited picture spots and the beauty nestled away inside the venue.
Most of our guests slept over at the venue and furthermore our friends stayed in a guesthouse just down the road. We all, friends and family, enjoyed a wonderful breakfast together the following morning on the veranda overlooking the gorgeous waters of Oxbow Country Estate.

My bridal beauty regime was very simple.
I went for a facial treatment once a month for 7 months leading up to the wedding at the wonderful Penny from Mellow Clinic in Menlopark Pretoria. My skin was very dehydrated and we worked on improving hydration and nourishment of my skin. She did a vampire facial for me the month before my wedding and my skin felt so good!!
I have always enjoyed keeping fit and healthy and thus had no specific program for this, I just did my usual 4-5 times a week gym visits. My husband and I also eat relatively healthy at home so we didn't really need to change anything.
My nails very done by the very talented Brigitte Soukop from Bodies Beautiful and they looked stunning!!
Being able to spend the night before on the venue definitely helped us all relax and take a lot off stress off the big day!!! I felt extremely relaxed on the morning of my wedding and everything went so smoothly, even the photographer said I was such a relaxed bride!!!! This is greatly contributed to everyone who helped me plan and organise beforehand, we had absolutely no rush the night before. The key was definitely to get into bed early and get some good beauty sleep!!
My decor and flowers was done by the wonderful Coreen from LoveBeloved.
The chapel did not need much as it was already such a beautiful surrounding. Coreen decorated the arches of the chapel at the entrance and front of the chapel with greenery and some blush pink flower varieties. There was greenery sprinkled down the aisle with a single step protea and sage green ribbon on every aisle chair.
The reception was beautifully set out with long wooden tables seating 16 guests each. Our colour scheme was blush pink and sage green, soft colours that complimented each other beautifully. Each table has a blush pink soft tulle runner topped with a floral runner in the centre. The floral runners consisted of greenery, a variety of white and blush pink flowers, roses and proteas. Our decor was primarily crystal and rose gold, with lots of candles and fairy lights to create a warm feeling. I was lucky enough to win a competition from Bride in Bloom for decor where we chose a variety of rose gold votives and geometric shapes to complete the table designs.
My bridal bouquet was handmade by my mom once again. It consisted of silk flowers thus making it something I can keep forever. It consisted of two white king proteas, greenery cascading down with a variety of pink shades of flowers in between, orchids and blushing brides. My bridal bouquet was truly special, my mom attached a pin to it saying 'Always my daughter, forever my friend' and finished it off with beautiful pearl pins down the stems.
We had a stunning welcome board, guest book sign, ring box and cake topper made from rose gold perspex by Hartslief designs Pty Ltd which added a tough of elegance to complete the look. Everything was above and beyond what I imagined it would look like and all my expectations were exceeded!!! It was absolutely beautiful.
My husband wore a navy suit from Eurosuit in Brooklyn Mall. He completed the look with brown shoes and a brown belt from Aldo.
The groomsmen wore a lighter shade of blue suit which we got from Edgars, with a white shirt and brown leather bow ties.
We chose the suits because they were the perfect shades of navy and blues and the fit suited everyone well. The groom wore a floral tie and the groomsmen wore a classic leather bow tie from JCclick Shop.
Everyone looked very handsome!
My bridesmaids wore the most beautiful floral rompers from Forever New while getting ready, while myself and my moms wore beautiful gowns from May May Attire. I had a matching white romper and gown with lace trimming, while the moms had blush pink gowns with lace trimming.
For the bridesmaids we were going for a simple but yet elegant look and a style that would suit everyone. We got the dressed made by a family friend as a gift to us. The colour was a gorgeous sage green with subtle beading at the neck line. The dresses were flowy, comfortable and elegant.
The flower girls wore beautiful blush pink infinity dresses from Gelique and gorgeous blush pink wedges from Aldo.
All the girls had their hair down with soft curls which complimented the style of the dresses beautifully. For the bridesmaids and flower girls we got accessories from Lovisa.

Our marriage officer was my uncle who is a pastor, Hannes Steyn. This added a personal touch to the ceremony as he knew both myself and my husband well. He delivered a beautiful message that will remain with us forever.
Our special day was captured by the best in the business - the Mighty Fine Productions team.
They did our photography and videography throughout the day and we absolutely loved having them capture all our special moments! The photographers really made us feel so comfortable in front of the cameras and they made sure to capture even the smallest details. We had our engagement shoot with Elsabe from Mighty Fine Productions in January 2019 and we were lucky enough to have her there as the main photographer on our wedding day.
We have only received our sneak peek so far and they blew us away with the 5 most beautiful photos and we CANNOT wait for the rest! We are so happy that we chose to do a video as well - the day goes so quickly and we are looking forward to watching the video to see everything in detail again. A few times I said to Brandon 'lets just stand and take it all in' and we stood, looked around us and at all our guests and just lived in every single moment.
TJ Swart was our wedding planner from Oxbow Country Estate and we definitely would have been able to do everything without him! He pays attention to the smallest details making sure nothing is left out.
Everything was so well managed and the entire day from beginning to end went smoothly. He was always there to help and answer questions leading up to the big day and nothing was ever too much for him, we are so thankful to Oxbow for their incredible services! Our guests all made use of their own private transport to and from the wedding as most of them stayed over on the venue.
Our venue prepared the food and dessert for our wedding.
The food was absolutely incredible!!! We had a focaccia bread selection followed by a prawn and potato rosti starter. For mains we chose flame grilled beef rump with creamy mushroom sauce, spinach and roast butternut and fondant potatoes. For dessert we had a trio of a tiramisu, chocolate mudslide and pavlova.
Our main wedding cake was a three tier chocolate cake with cream cheese icing made by my talented mother. We had a cake table during canapé hour which included our main cake for our guests to indulge in while we were off taking photos. Our cake table included a variety of 6 additional cakes, including various cheesecakes, coffee-brandy and carrot cakes. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the sweet snacks during the canapé hour as there was nothing left!!!

My mom wrote all of the menu’s and individual name tags by hand. The background style of each menu and name tag was a beautiful hand painted protea which complimented the elegant floral designs on the tables.
Our wedding invites were done via e-invited by the wonderfully talented Chelsea from My Big Event. Our invites gave the guests a little taste of the style and colors of our big day to come with a few personalized pictures from our engagement shoot.
My maid of honour has dance background so she helped us with our first dance.
We danced to Ed Sheeran's song Perfect as we are both huge Ed fans but also because this song tells a story and we felt this story fitted our 'high school sweetheart romance'.
Our sound, lighting and music was done by Tony Brinsford from Perfect Tone and he was fantastic!!! Our guests were on the dance floor from the moment it opened and didn't leave until the very last song! Tony was wonderful at reading the crowd and entertaining all ages!!!
We had a live band during canapé hour and we are so happy we did this in the end as it created such a nice vibe for our guests while we were out taking photos. The live band was done by 'n Pel Van My and he even performed some Ed Sheeran songs specially for us!!
