My wedding day was one of the best days of my life. There were moments of joy, some tears, laughter and so much love. It was a "small" wedding; about 80 guests. All our closest family and friends. I spent the entire day with a smile on my face and I love that I felt so much love on the day, not between my husband and I but from each and every person there.
A memory I will never forget on the day is having my mother walk me down the aisle but the best moment for me would definitely be seeing my husband at the end of the aisle with tears rolling down his face. Never in my life have I ever experience such pure emotion and it was the moment that truly made me realize why we were all together on that day.
Both of us had to be back at work a week after the wedding so we couldn't do a long honeymoon away but we take a mini trip for a few days.
We didn't plan a thing, we just packed a bag, got in the car and drove. We ended up driving through the garden route and exploring parts of the country that aren't normally explored.
We found a restaurant called Pili Pili in Sedgefield and Knysna Gin. Robin couldn't taste anything because he was driving but I had fun. lol.
It was a time for us to be together, share new experiences and just share in the love we have for each other with no disturbances.
I didn't necessarily set out for certain "look" on the day. I just knew that I wanted to feel beautiful. And different. My dress was a low back, strapless ballgown from Casa Blair Bridal (Port Elizabeth). Shoes from Planet 54.
Instead of a bouquet, I had one giant flower.
I had my hair in a soft side sweep across my right shoulder; done myself.
Everything was pretty simple so therefore my make up was very dramatic. Done by Jade January (Port Elizabeth).
I definitely wanted to be different so I opted for a choker and my simple drop earrings (something borrowed).
Everything was white, even my nails.
We got married at The Venue @ Sherwood Garden Centre.
Everything was done at one place; ceremony, cocktail hour, photos and reception.
*SUNFLOWERS*
We went for the "less is more" effect.
Everything except the reception was held outside so that was our decor. The venue is covered in greenery and fairylights.
The reception had glass tables, no table cloths. High tables and a lounge area.
Indoor decor was candles and sunflowers.
Almost everything was glass.
No main table, just a lounger for the bridal couple.
The groom wore a dark grey suit, white shirt and grey tie.
The groomsmen were in a lighter grey, they wore pants, a shirt and a waistcoat.
Instead of boutonnieres the groom and groomsmen had suit pins. A white one for the groom and yellow for the groomsmen.
The bridesmaids wore yellow.
Finding their dresses was quite a mission because of the "odd" colour but in the end everything worked out. It was a bodysuit and a skirt.
Instead of bouquets, the bridesmaids had pinwheels.

These two made us feel amazingly comfortable on the day and do brilliant work.
Our reception was very relaxed. Lots of dancing and having fun.
The bride also got a lap dance...
