On the 23 November 2019 I got to marry my best friend. We almost been together for 6 years. We have a little girl who will be 5 soon and in this period he has lived and worked abroad. Its been the most challenging time of our lives with many ups and downs... but look we made it. Next year we will all be under one roof and we cant wait!!
I would have to say that the highlights of the day was my brother giving me away, seeing my husband cry while watching me walk towards him, the I do's and of course our Marriage officer pronouncing us Husband and Wife as Mr and Mrs Emmens followed by confetti throwing :)
Oh the speeches were out of this world. My little brother wrote a poem and It wasn't just any old poem from a book - he wrote it himself and everyone was blown away by it.
Our daughter cut the cake with us which was very special and of course all the dancing!!
No we did not go on a honeymoon.
Our wedding was Modern and Elegant which a touch of white, powder blue and greenery. The most beautiful flowers from - Lols Flowers
The yummiest and most perfect cake from - Crumbs and Frosting

One of my bridesmaids put me in touch with a friend of hers who has just started out as a makeup artist. Her name is Gabbi and she did myself and my bridesmaids make up. - Gabbi makeup artistry
My mother bought my wedding dress from the wedding boutique on sale :) - Blue by Enzoani
After days and days looking for shoes, I decided to go for a comfy and rather cheap pair of shoes which fitted the budget! I cant even say what the brand was. They were from a little store in Canal walk.
Lingerie - just a pair of knickers - Body cotton on. ( I had a boob tube dress )
One of my best friends and bridesmaids let me borrow ear rings that she wore on her wedding day. I had my engagement ring and wedding band that were both from - Harris and Darcy. I had some ear pins that were from - Kathleen Barry.
My garter (also something blue) was from - Everything and Wedding
In 2005, a new bridal collection emerged and quickly rose to compete with top brands by merging traditional and modern European styles into exquisitely hand crafted gowns.
We got married at Hout Bay Manor.
We had quite a few people stay at the venue. The venue is also a hotel so it worked out perfectly. Especially for my husbands parents who flew from the UK and are in their 70's.

To be honest I feel so guilty from not having a health and fitness regime. I work full time and I have a 4 year old that I need to see to when I'm not at work. My partner lives and works away. It was all quite challenging trying to plan this wedding on y own and work etc... There was no time for taking care of me. I did have a mani and pedi done at sorbet before the wedding.
I would like to say that our decor was elegant and modern with a touch of rustic.
I'm so grateful to my florist who had the same vision as me. She also added in lots of little bits that had nothing to do with flowers:). I gave her a budget and she allowed that to happen.
Flowers were white roses, babies breath, blue hydrangeas and eucalyptus leaves. Florist - Lols Flowers
Most decor was DIY or also provided by Lols Flowers. a few bits came from - Ginger Ray
Our tables were put together as rectangles and covered with white table cloths. We had white Tiffany chairs for the ceremony and reception.
We had some fairy lights behind the bridal table and some around the room that were provided by - Ben Lotz
We collected white hearts over the months and hung them in the oak tree. We got married under the oak tree. A lot of bits and bobs we borrowed from friends.
The groom (my husband :) I love saying that now. - He hired his suit from - Eurosuit.
The best man and my brothers just put their own suits together.....
I ordered a few accessories from Polkadot Box and everything wedding.
My bridesmaids wore a powder blue colour. I wanted them to all have a different. We ordered their dresses from - Gelique. The junior bridesmaids had a skirt made by them too and then they had a white vest from Body cotton on.
Our daughter who was of course our flower girl had a dress from - Bride and Co.
