The morning of our wedding day I was privileged to sit with a cup of coffee, watching the sun rise over the Outeniqua moments- this helped me to prepare my head and heart for our big day.
I had a memorable moment when I looked at my dad and smiled with tears of joy, before taking the first step down the isle.
Devin and I both treasure the moment I walked down the isle, before our forever after would begin. And further on, our big celebration of union began.
Yes, I was under the impression we were on our way to Durban. On the airport my prince swept from beneath me, when he announced we are on our way to a beautiful romantic destination in Zanzibar!
Our wedding look was based our decision to go with a soft, elegant look. Keeping things simple, but profound.
My hair was done by Marilee Alberts,
My make-up was done by Maryke Fourie
My wedding dress was hired by Jean-Nalida Collections
My shoes was from Shoe City
My lingerie was bought from Woolworths
Jewellery (only earrings) was bought at Pebble's Boutique and my perfume was from Woolworths.
We were honoured to get married at Tramonto Venue, George. This lovely venue provided the ideal space for our ceremony and reception with the extraordinary George mountains surrounding it.
We did our booking and catering through Farm & Fellow, which manages this remarkable venue.
Farm & Fellow guesthouse were just perfect for our guests to stay after the wedding, seeing that is walk distance from the venue.
As all brides know, time is limited and with having to get in shape for your special day...eating healthy and exercising plays a great role.
I was blessed with numerous sessions at The Firm by Lauren. This was sessions to help me tone my body and relax while doing so.
Eating smaller portions and healthy was a daily choice, but I didn't let that control my life.
I took good care of my skin, went for TanCan sessions to get my tanned look and applied body moisturizer to my skin to make sure my skin stayed soft. And I also booked my nail and toe nail appointment with the lovely Magan Miles.
As I mentioned previously, our beautiful day was mainly based on the elegant and soft look.
Our decor was planned and done between me, my two moms and my bridesmaids. I knew what we were looking for, so we found the difference pieces and added them up together.
Some of the items where hired from EliteHire and Flower4U.
My lovely flowers was done by the outstanding Sandra de Freitas from Lily and Lime.
The groom got blessed with a suite from Bridal Inn, George.
The groomsmen were dressed privately, with bow ties and suspenders.
The bridesmaids were all keen to fit the soft, elegant look. The wonderful Wilma Rossouw made their dresses.
Their hair was done by Marilee Alberts and Makeup by Maryke Fourie.
Private.
The most special Kelly-Jane Arthur was our photographer on our big day and also for our engagement shoot.
This young, vibrant lady played such a big role in making the day special.
She not only made us laugh and feel comfortable, but she also helped us set up our program and stick to it (seeing that she has so much experience, it came naturally to her).
We are so grateful to could have had her as the person to capture such deep and beautiful moments, and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants the same experience.
We as a couple sat and planned our day as we preferred it. Our photographer and Wendy from Tramonto helped us to finalize timelines and guided us where needed. Other than that, our moms confirmed that they were "super moms" and jumped in and helped anywhere they were needed.
For us ladies,
One of my bridesmaids drove them and I drove with my dad in Japie Lubbe's beautiful Mercedes to the venue.
Farm & fellow was the wonderful caterers for our food and Alicia Britz from "Happy Place Bakes" assured us to have the most delicious wedding cake.
Us as a couple prepared the printwork and then we printed it through Blitsdruk in George.
We were blessed to have the ceremony and reception at the same venue, which made it possible for us to use the same team as for the ceremony.
Devin and I found our song ("When I say I do" by Matthew West) we started dancing to it and just comfortably figured out our dance moves.
All the music was done by Chad Thomas and he also helped with making sure the lights are in place and correct.
