The moments I most love remembering from my wedding day, are probably the ones all brides cherish... My mother and maid-of-honor helping me into my dress. My father seeing me for the first time all in white. Not the mention my three siblings seeing me veil and all. The pour joy and happiness within my mothers house was infectious.
My top memory, which anyone who's gotten married can probably understand, was coming into the church. Yes, that first look of my dashing almost-husband waiting for me at the altar, his face brightening when he sees me, was marvelous. However, the highlight came once I was beside him. He turned and whispered to me: "I look like a Hobo compared to you!" Even now I cannot help but smile hugely. It is a statement so typically him - the man I feel in love with.
The rest of the day was a fun, colorful, country celebration. The first time announced as Mr & Mrs, the father-daughter dance, our first dance, the speeches, the food, the people and the conversation all combine and compile into what can only be called the best wedding we could have possibly imagined.
We went to the lovely Walkersons Hotel & Spa in Dullstroom. A five night getaway, in their beautiful and spacious honeymoon suit. It was a wonderful experience with all inclusive breakfast and dinner. A tranquil spot a mere two hours from busy Pretoria.
I found the dress of my dreams at Bridal Manor, one of the best wedding dress shops I have come across. The designer is 'Sweetheart Bridal' and the silhouette is a soft A-line. The silver sparkle and lace made it eye-catching and sassy for me. And the tulle skirt, that I could 'whoosh' around, made it fun.
With it, for the ceremony, I wore knee high, high heeled, white boots. And for the reception I exchanged those for my leather cowboy boots to party the night away.
