We had a special request for our puppy to join us on our special day. As a surprise, our puppy was brought to the venue while we were heading out for photos. A very special moment for us.
Unfortunately we didn't go on honeymoon as we decided to use our budget on making our one day a special and memorable day.
I went with a lace, glam vintage look. My dress was a mixture of lace falling into modern. I absolutely live sparkles and pink and my dress portrayed exactly who I am. Sparkles mixed in the lace that cascaded down the dress at an angle along a baby pink organza drape... Feeling like I was wrapped in lacy pink sparkles. I designed my own dress but I had the expert assistance and dress making from Nicole Bridal and Evening Wear.
My shoes took on my fun side and were a lovely shade of pink with just a strap over the toes and around the ankle. If you lifted my dress, you'd find the modern side of me. I love online shopping and so my shoes were ordered through ZANDO.
My hair and make up took me back to the 1900's vintage in an old cap Dutch setting. Make up that highlighted my blue eyes and a hairstyle that kept my naturally curly hair. The beautiful Helga Strydom and her team were there to make me feel like a model
My earrings were my boom factor with delicate little leaf clips in my hair from Cindy Bam.
Sexy lingerie was all lace in white.. Dare to be Bare. Lace, lace and more lace. From Bra and Things.

Our ceremony and reception were held in the Private Dinning Room at Jonkershuis in Groot Constantia.
We had a lunch wedding and so our guests just wandered around feeding the ducks and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Vineyards.

I enjoyed a 'Say I do' Package with Gingerlily Spa.
The week leading up to my wedding I had an amazing O2 facial for an hour (where I fell asleep). The Thursday before the wedding I had a mani and pedi with French gelish and nail art.
Included in my package was a spray tan session and I've never done a spray tan. My worst fear was being orange but Gingerlily know their stuff and so on my day I looked like I stepped off a beach in Mauritius.
Our theme was Fynbos. We absolutely love the variations of Proteas. Our colour scheme was Dusty Pink, Green Sage and Navy.
Our flower arrangements and supply were done by Shirley's Flowers.
Using foliage we were able to create a vintage style in the old wooden private dinning room. We kept to a very simple decor of less is more. Pennygum was the favourite of the day which meant that the proteas really stood out. Amongst the greenery were dashs of pink protea. A round arch was used instead of the traditional old half arch, draped in pennygum, giving the feel of an outdoor wedding. Wine barrels and old wooden tables and chairs with cabinets displaying Groot Constantia wines gave our guests a feeling of being seated in the 1900's. Our guests had a dress code. Seeing the gents arrive in suspenders, Bow ties, Chinos and old English hats. The lovely ladies wore floral dresses.
We were blessed to be assisted by Cherri Hire for all the decor provided... Vases, lights, draping, centerpieces, flower girl baskets, cushions as well as game set ups for our guests.
Our Boys in Blue... The Groom wore a dark Navy suit with tie from Woolworths with brown shoes and belt.
The Best man wore navy pants, white shirt, navy bowtie, brown suspenders and brown shoes from Woolworths.
Button holes were made from dessert rose succulents as blushing bride had already stopped flowering.
All dresses and styles I designed by looking through Pinterest and mixing and hatching bits and bobs from a range of dresses.
The accent colour to the brides dress was of course the dusty pink.
I designed my dresses and had the loveky Nicole make then come alive.
Southside Church's, Pastor Grant Stevenson assisted us with all the legality contacts as well as marrying us. He brought humour, real love and laughter to our ceremony.
My husband and I are from being serious people e and so Pastor Grant really made our ceremony a great relatable event.
We were very lucky to have lovely Laura from Bellamoore Photography join us on the day. She helped keep the funny side of our wedding going by allowing us to be a bunch of crazies in front of the camera and still the photos came out so tasteful.
Melody from Jonkershuis made sure that all my requests were met and that we ran to schedule and on time. She did a fantastic job. Not once was I a stressed Bride in the organizing of my wedding.

Good Old Dad drove us to our wedding.
Food was prepared by Jonkershuis and wow was it good... No... Fantastic. Everyone of our guests only had good things to say.
After many quotes on cakes and them being way out our budget and it looked like a Pick n Pay Cake was going to be our cake, we stumbled upon Nicole from Your Hearts Design Cakes. She made our cake exactly lije the photo I sent her and she was super affordable.
My husband and I absolutely LOVE carrot cake and so Nicole made the most divine, most carrot cake.

I am a wedding Stationery Designer and Graphic Designer so I designed all my stationery myself.
Being a lunch wedding and a wedding in a budget, we didn't have space for a dance floor but as a couple we had decided we didn't want to dance, throw bouquet or do the garter. We didn't want to stick to traditional wedding events. Instead we had a battle of the game 'how many kisses' using Rock, paper, scissors.
