Doing the planning with my mom and setting up the night before with family and friends made the wedding day extra special for us. The entire day was just amazing. From waking up and getting ready with my bridesmaids, to seeing the groom at our ceremony, and the reception that was loads of fun. We had a market style set up, serving ice-cream, coffee and a bar that allowed guests to interact and socialise with one another and our awesome service providers.
We had a brief honeymoon. We spent the evening of our wedding at The Radisson Blu Hotel in Port Elizabeth, after which we traveled to stay at the Protea Hotel in Knysna.
My wedding look was simplistic and elegant with a soft vintage touch.
My gown, Kara by Enzoani, was an absolute dream, full-length, modified A-line tulle and beaded lace gown. It was purchased from Lorette Designs, the owner, Lorette was such a pleasure and made me feel at ease from day one.
My shoes were purchased the day before the wedding from YDE, a last minute decision that I do not regret! Superga sneakers came in handy later that evening.
I received wedding day gifts from the groom, who spoiled me with a rose gold floating crystal necklace and my from dad, a rose gold double bracelet, both items from Swarovski. I also wore hair jewelry and earrings from Lovisa.
Our ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Port Elizabeth, followed by our reception at the Tramways Building.
The weekend before my wedding, my bridesmaids and I treated ourselves to a weekend away at Casa Mia Health Spa & Guest House, Addo, where we had massages, facials and a whole lot of relaxation.
My mom and I took care of the decor, we hired tables, crockery and cutlery, but items such as flowers, table decor, furniture etc we had purchased in the months leading up to the wedding.
The orchids that were placed on guest tables were purchased from Woolworths and the Bridal party and main table flowers were purchased from Casa Rose, Port Elizabeth.
The lighting and music was done by I Management.
The groom purchased his suit from Markhams and the groomsmens suits are from Zara. Their shoes were purchased from Superbalist and their ties are from a store at Robert Daniel, Cape Town Waterfront.
I walked into Forever New and saw a strappy tulip shaped dress that I absolutely loved, this ended up being the dress my bridesmaids wore to the wedding. Their jewelry was purchased from Lovisa and their shoes from YDE and Maddison.
Our Priest, Father Lubabalo, officiated our marriage.
Our precious moments were captured in stills by Amy and Skye from Vanbode Wedding, and a highlight video was created by our videographer Jean, from Your Wedding Tale.
My mom was my planner, we recently decided to start our own wedding planning company called LA Conte.
We used cars owned by our family and friends to get to the church. After the church we were escorted in a Dodge to take our bridal party photos.
Our catering was done by Muse Restaurant, Port Elizabeth. They prepared beautiful canapés, a starter and main course. Our wedding cake was made by Chantel at Perfectly Crafted.
Because I am a graphic designer, I was able to design and print the wedding stationery we needed. In addition, we did print around 50 engagement photos and one photo onto a canvas to display as a gallery/exhibition at the wedding. These photos were printed at Walker Digital, Port Elizabeth.
We had an amazing live musician and singer at our wedding, Claire. Our DJ, sound and lighting was done by Greg O Gee from I Management.
