The most memorable moment is that I am now able to call this amazing man my HUSBAND!!
And the fact that everyone who was there, on our wedding day, we can call family and true friends! It meant the world to share this great day with people who matter most!
Yes, we were very fortunate to have gone on Honeymoon to Plettenberg Bay... It was absolutely amazing! Everyday we went on a different adventure, such as kayaking with dolphins, hiking Robberg, swimming with the seals, africanyoning, wine tasting and delicious food on a wine farm and of course tasting all the best local fish and chips. I loved spending this time with my Husband and wouldn’t change it for anything!
Our wedding was a formal event and feel, yet to feel comfortable and just have a good time! My hair was curled and my makeup was quite dark. Bernice at Simply Blushed was my makeup artist. My wedding dress I got at a place in Pretoria called Peaches and Spice and funny enough it was the first wedding dress that I had fit on and I fell in love with it! My mother said that I can’t buy the first dress I fit on... About a month of searching, nothing compared, I phoned the place and lucky enough they still had my dress! So meant to be! My shoes were nude in colour, with a rose gold heel and from the one and only Mr Price. Jewelry and accessories I got from Lovisa and Forever new. Lingerie for the night... Shhhhh.
My Husband and I got married in the NG Church (Klipkerk) in Heidelberg, Gauteng. About 20min drive to the reception venue named “The Wild Lodge and Wedding Venue”. Some of our guests did stay the night in the available rooms and others stayed over in nearby lodges.
I didn’t do anything extra or out of the ordinary... Thinking about it now, it never even crossed my mind... Oops!
Our colour scheme was rose gold, greenery and burgundy. The decor (underplates, knives and forks, candle stands were rose gold. We had a big LOVE sign with lights. We had hula hoops above the main table with draped greenery.) We rented white Tiffany chairs- to my surprise, my Husband fetched it and sent photos of how the legs of the chairs were cracked and fixed with insulation tape! My word! Luckily a chair did not break! Flowers were arranged by my wedding coordinator and got them from Multiflora in Jhb. Lots of greenery, burgundy flowers and proteas.
My DJ from Spectacular Events sorted all the lighting for me and did a fantastic job!
The groom wore a tailor made suit from Frank Bespoke. Navy in colour, with a burgundy tie and shoes. Looked too grand with a tie clip and matching cufflinks.
The groomsmen wore a navy pants, grey polo shirt and navy tie, with camel colour shoes and belt.
My maid of honour (best friend) wore a salmon/nude colour dress from YDE... I gave her free reign to choose her own style and colour scheme.
Our marriage officer was Dr Johan Cloette
Kyle Van Der Schyff from Bravo Photography was our photographer and videographer for our big day! And WOW! He really goes out of his way to make a person feel special! We had a hiccup with a previous photographer and lost quite a bit of money, he understood and was more than willing to assist us where possible!
We did not have a photobooth. But rather got Caricatures done from Alan Simpson and what a treat! This was everyone’s thank you gift and no one can stop talking about it! He is just amazing at what he does!
Yes, we did have a planner to help on our special day! Her name is Lindsay Wolter from Tasty Affairs, who also done our food for the evening.
Geovanni Dunn from Landrover Vereeniging was kind enough to give us a car to use on our wedding day. A Range Rover, Velar. Absolutely stunning car!!!
Lindsay Wolter and her partner in crime Danielle Mertz from Tasty Affairs prepared our food for the evening and WOW!!! Absolutely fantastic! We had a harvest table for everyone while we were taking photos, and then a family style dinner with canapé type of snacks... Everyone is still raving about it! My husband and I did get a chance to eat, but unfortunately I can’t remember much about how it tasted!
My Wedding coordinator did the stationary, on black boards with chalk:). Plain and simple
Our reception was great! We unfortunately did not take any dance lessons. We kind of left it to point 99, and then decided to wing it on the day... And it didn’t turn out too bad! :)
We used Andrew Visagie from Spectacular events for our sound and lighting... He did a fantastic job keeping the guests entertained! The game he let us play was great fun!
