I enjoyed getting ready for my special day with my beautiful bridesmaids, my mom and my two aunts.
Then, walking down the aisle I'll always remember my husband's face when he saw me. Also, seeing our friends and family there to support us was very heartwarming.
The reception was incredibly including awesome speaches and our entry song (Vulindlela) by the late Brenda Fassie, a vibey atmosphere and emotional moments.
I enjoyed every moment and it was really a true reflection of who we are. It couldn't have been a more perfect day, and it was a day that I will treasure forever under the special mountains of Stellenbosch where it all started 10 years ago when I first met my handsome Husband.
Unfortunately, my husband had to travel for work after our wedding, so we planning to go to Mauritius in February on my special day, 14th February which is my birthday and also Valentine's day.
We went for a soft and elegant look.
I went for a 'low bun' to the side hairstyle and I wanted my make-up to complete the soft elegant look. The make-up artist and hairstylist were recommended to me by one of my bridesmaids. I just showed them photos of what I had in mind and they did an excellent job. My make-up was done by Marilize Hanekom and the hairstylist was Jane Elizabeth Kotzé.
My shoes were very special, because the were given to me by my mother. My mother owns Melanies Boutique in Stellenbosch where she sells Zellie shoes as well as lingerie. I wore white Zellie wedges. They were very comfortable especially walking down the aisle on grass. My lingerie was also given to me by my mother. My shoes and lingerie were my 'something new'.
My jewellery was special because it was 'something old' as well as 'something borrowed' from my mother.
She lend me her pearl earings and pearl bracelet. Also, on my right hand I wore my beautiful engagement ring.
My wedding dress was designed by Johan Wolmarans in Port Elizabeth. I met with him three times.
First time was to show him photos of what I had in mind. He started drawing a dress on paper while I was explaining some details. I was very happy vir the drawing.
Second meeting was for measurements.
Third meeting was four months after he took my measurements. I drove from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth to collect my dress and it was absolutely stunning.
I am still so inlove with my dress. The whole process was so easy and he made me feel so comfortable and at ease.

I went for one facial a week before the wedding at Sorbet (Tygervalley). My mother gave me a gift card from Sorbet a month before the wedding.
My husband arranged Thai massages for myself and my mother at Ruan Thai Spa located in Long Street, Cape Town just to relax a bit.
Working full time and planning a wedding is very stressful.
There wasn't a lot of time for exercise. When I had some free time in the evening I would take our dog, Brock (a pitbull) for a long walk.
Our flowers and decor were provided by Hudson's Wedding Venue. The downstairs reception area at Hudson's is already so beautiful, so all we needed were flowers and table decor.
We again went for an elegant look with blue-grey and pink-cream flower colours, to fit in with our theme.
And for the rest of the table decor we decided to focus on silver.
The ceremony was held outside in the middle of the beautiful grass next to the lake at Hudson's. Hudson's Wedding Venue also prepared and set everything for the ceremony which was also very beautiful and blended in well with the reception theme.
They were all dressed by CSquared SA, all wearing black Tuxedos and white shirts and my husband was wearing a black bowtie, and groomsmen were all wearing blacks ties also from CSquaredSA. My husband was also wearing a special personalised black watch with our wedding date and our clare name from FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT which was a gift from a friend, Siya Kolisi.
Our Marriage Officer was Reverend Dubois du Toit.
He is a good friend of ours. His wife was my roommate when we were students in Stellenbosch.
It was Reverend Dubois du Toit.
We decided to plan everything ourselves. I did most of the planning and finding service providers. My husband would assist me whenever he had time out of work, and he would also help me to make the final decisions.
Hudson's Wedding Venue prepared the food for us.
The cake was made by Madrie Möller, owner of Sweetheart Pâtisserie.
