I was hired as a photographer to shoot at an event organised by my fiance. Apparently he was flirting with me at the event but I didn't quite pick up on his 'signals', haha. After adding each other on Facebook, he messaged me a few months later and asked me if I would like to go out sometime. On our first date he took me for dinner and drinks on the rooftop of Hyde Park hotel and swept me off my feet. We were both smitten from that night onwards!
I came home from work one afternoon and he was waiting outside, smartly dressed and handsome as ever. He put his hands over my eyes and led me inside, telling me that he had a surprise waiting. I thought he had redecorated the house or bought some new furniture. When I opened my eyes, he was down on one knee holding the most exquisite ring. The whole lounge was decorated with tons of flowers, candles and fairy lights.There were giant silver balloons on the wall that spelt out 'MARRY ME'. I was in absolute shock but overjoyed!
Our first dance was really special - it was under a huge oak tree covered in fairy lights, surrounded by friends and family who were holding giant sparklers. It was simply magical!
Someone very generously blessed us with a honeymoon to Phuket, Thailand. We only found out where we were going on the night of the wedding and we left the next day! It was very exciting and honestly the best 7 days of my life. We really explored and experienced Thailand - from riding around town on a scooter to snorkelling at Phi Phi island, we made the most of every minute of our stay there.
My dress was custom designed by Joss Bridal. I wanted something unique and suited to my personality - I was going for bohemian princess vibes. The lace used on the top was intricate and beautiful and the skirt was a soft and flowy tulle. I am a perfectionist and every detail of the dress was well thought out - I think I probably gave Joss a few grey hairs but I am so happy with the way it turned out.
We got married at Accolades Boutique Venue in Midrand. It is a stunning, Tuscan-style venue with amazing food and lots of places to take great photos. Not many people know about this venue - it is great value for money and a hidden gem!

I always knew I wanted a pink and gold wedding, with lots of metallics and sparkly elements, creating a dreamy and romantic atmosphere. I did a lot of the decor myself - with the help of my bridesmaids. Most of the decor items were hired from SA Wedding Decor.
My bridesmaid dresses were created by Gelique and flower crowns by Ginger Blossoms finished off the boho chic style.
Light Flair Photography - Franco & Liani are an awesome husband & wife team that make you feel really comfortable and their photos have a soft, romantic feel to them. They also specialise in night photography and we got some amazing shots after sneaking out of the reception for a few minutes.
We had a small cake - a delcious Coffee Kahlua flavour with a tower of macaroons below, which were used as wedding favours. Kelly Jayne's Cake Boutique did a fantastic job - I gave Kelly a photo of what I wanted and it came out even better than expected.
