There were so many memorable moments , it's hard to name only a few. The highlights for me was when I got out of the car and walked into church with my dad, seeing my husband standing by the alter waiting for me. Walking into the reception hall was also a big highlight as it was the first time we saw everything made up and put together. And also being able to communicate with my husbands two sisters that are overseas and could be there with us, the saw the whole wedding through a live video chat. I just loved the whole night, being with my husband, spending a wonderful time with our friends and family.
My husband and I love adventure so for our honeymoon we Started in Johannesburg at Gold Reef City for a bit of an adrenaline boost and then we travelled to Ballito where we spent a few days at the La Montagne Hotel. We then travelled through Durban to Illovo Beach where we spent the rest of our honeymoon at ATKV Natalia.
It was the most relaxing and fun filled time that we had together.
My hair was a bit different than the normal bridal hairdos, the bottom section of my hair was curled then the stylist made a top bun with a side braid, I also added a plum highlight in my hair that went in with the braid. My makeup was done very naturally, I had dark eyeshadow and lashes with a natural lip. My wedding dress was exactly what I wanted, I bought it from bride and co. It had lace detail at the top with beasing that formed a little belt and then the bottom of the dress was soft netting that flared a little but not to much, my whole dress was white. With my shoes I went for something a bit different, I wore green heels that I bought from Truworths just to add a little something fun to my look. With lingerie I did do anything really special and my jewellery was very minimalistic, I only had a pair of rosegold earrings that had a spiral form to compliment the curls of my hair.
We got married at the beautiful Klondike Lodge just a few kilometres outside of Vryburg in the northwest.
Our families that came from far slept at Klondike lodge as the have a few chalets on the farm, the rest of the guests that were from out of town slept at guest houses in Vryburg such as Lockerbie Lodge and Game View Lodge.
I didn't really have a chance to do the whole bridal beauty regime as I was still working up until about three days before the wedding. Two days before the wedding I coloured and cut my hair and we also did the preview for the wedding.
I did my hair at Maskara Hair & Beauty salon in Vryburg.
We tried keeping the decor as minimalistic as possible. Every second table had the same centre piece and there was only one bouquet of flowers and that was on our table. We had round tables with white chairs and one long 6 seater table for us and our parents. We also rented a special carpet that was in church with a bible verse that the parson preached about on it. We had purple lighting just to create a relaxed mood.
The groom and groomsmen's suits where very unique as it had a puple shine when looking at them from a certain angle. With the suits they wore white shirts and suspenders with bow ties and black shoes. The grooms suspenders and bow tie were green and the groomsmen had purple ones.
They bought their suits, shirts, shoes and belts from Edgars in Loch Logan Waterfront Mall in Bloemfontein and their suspenders and bow ties where bought from China Mall in Johannes burg.
I only had two bridesmaids and they where the best that a girl could ask for. They wore plum infinity dresses with shoes and jewelery of their choice. I wanted both of them to have their own look rather than letting them look alike as tradition is.
We got their dresses from Bride&Co in Loch Logan Waterfront Mall, Bloemfontein.
Our marriage official was the parson from our church, Parson Kenneth Meyburgh. He gave us the most beautiful message about love and the true meaning of marriage.
We had the best photographer ever. She captured every moment of the day in the most beautiful photos. I can't imagine anyone else doing our photos better than she did. She is very professional but make you feel at ease when she takes photos. She delivered quality work and I would recommend her to everyone that wants quality. We didn't have a videographer or photo booth as a lot of our family and friends made videos of our spacial day.
No, I did not have a coordinater to help with the planning, my wonderful mother did most of the planning for us and everything was perfect.
Our wedding transport was a old yellow Ford Prefect that is owned by my grandfather and was drivin by my nephew on our wedding day. He drove me and my bridesmaids from the guest house where we got our makeup done and got dressed to the church and then afterwards he drove me and my husband to the reception. I am totally inlove with this car and also used it on the day of my matric farewell.
Our delicious food was prepared by the people of Klondike Lodge as it was included with the venue. Our beautiful wedding cake was made by Function Fusion in Vryburg, Northwest.
Everything at the reception that had to be printed was done by local people in Vryburg.
We did not take dance lessons as it wasn't neccessary. The lighting was included with the receprions decor, our sond was done by a local guy named Kabous Kluge, he was our DJ.
