My bridesmaids, parents, sister-in-law and brother stayed with me the night before the wedding at the Winelands Golf Lodge and we braai'd and sat out on the stoep. I woke on the morning of the wedding so excited, everyone was in high spirits and the weather was so perfect. I loved having everyone with me leading up to the time i walked down the aisle they all made me feel at ease. I saw my husband to be and his reaction when he saw me was priceless. After all our photos were done, us as the newly weds took a few minutes to ourselves to take in everything. We loved having our friends and family members dancing away until the end of the night.
We stayed at My Blue Hotel which is situated in the Nungwi area of Zanzibar. It was amazing and a place i would visit again in a heartbeat.
I always knew I wanted an upstyle with my hair which was done by CVZ styling. I had my makeup done by Anchor and Rose Makeup Artistry, I put all my trust in her to do what she thought would suit me as she had done my makeup for my brother's wedding earlier in the year. I had such a blast looking for my wedding dress, I went to a few places, but I knew when I saw Tying the Knot Bridal Boutique on facebook I would pick my dress from there. Nastassia was incredible from the beginning to end, she made sure everything was perfect. When I put on the Justin Alexander dress it fitted like a glove and I knew that was the one, and to top it all off I won R5000 off my dress when I entered the boutique competiton. My shoes I ordered off Zando, they were block heel, best choice I made for style and comfort. My underwear I got from Bra's N things in Canal Walk. My earrings I got from Lovisa, my pearl bracelet was a special gift from my brother and my diamond necklace was a gift from my parents on my wedding day. My hair piece was made by my sister-in-law Lee Battison, she used the pieces from my grandmothers pearl crown she wore on her wedding day 62 years ago. My garter was from And Something Pretty. My rings were made by Anton Hattingh and my husbands band was from Unbreakable Man.

Our venue was at Stellenrust in Stellenbosch. It was so beautiful and Ilse guided us from the beginning and made sure everything went smoothly. Our minds were at ease with Ilse in full control and our day was perfect.
I always found gyms to be so boring and i would not push myself enough, so we started crossfit and the changes were amazing and nearly instant. I also tried to avoid sweets, fizzy drinks & junk food. I had my nails done by Thai Sabai.
Our colours were rose gold and burgurndy, so all flowers had dark red, light pink and white roses. At the ceremony we had an arch with white draping and ivy hanging from the arch. The reception area had white draping and fairy lights and ivy hanging from the chandeliors. All that was done by Love Affair Events.
My husband decided to go with a dark blue suit with a burgundy tie, with a sterling silver tie clip and lapel pin with owls on in honour of our late friend. The Groomsmen wore grey suits with waist coats and burgundy ties. They also decided to all wear matching burgundy underwear.
Suits were rented from Keiths suit hire in Somerset West and underwear was bought from Woolworths.
My bridesmaids wore burgundy infinity dresses which were made by Scarlet Daisy Creations. I chose those dresses as they can wear it to a style that they like. My ladies looked beautiful!
Steven Lottering from Bergvliet Methodist Family Church, he was so chilled and made us feel excited about becoming a married couple!
Astrid from Ever, Ever Photography captured our day and was the best choice we made, our photos have left us speechless. We asked a family friend Ross Lubbe to be our videographer, it was the first time he had ever done a wedding video and we were completely blown away by the video he created.

Malita Joubert Catering did our food and it was so delicious guests were going back for 3rds. Our wedding cake was made by Lulubelle's bakes and that was a piece of art and tasted incredible.
One of my bridesmaids Vicky designed our wedding invite which was printed by Ronelle from Nutmeg Designz. Ronelle also designed and printed our menus & name cards.
My husband kept telling me we needed dancing lessons but after a quick 10 minute practice run in our lounge with our first dance song playing from Youtube, we decided we knew what we were doing and didnt need lessons. We had a musician who was Charel Kleinhans who played acoustic guitar and sang during the predrinks. We had DJ Phoenix SA that kept the guests on the dance floor the moment it was opened.
